"The entrance to the hotel left us a bit nervous about our booking choice, but once we were inside we were warmly welcomed by Peter who offered us Prosecco while he walked us through check in and gave us helpful information about the property. Thank you Peter! The property is beautiful, and part of a monastery complex with extensive grounds which include vineyards, restaurants and beer gardens. You have the best view over the city and the river! There are bakeries and coffee shops right next door...

"I searched for ages for a decent hotel at a fair price with good reviews. As so many others had questionable reviews, i thought the Golden Star might be too good to be true, but in fact it was perfect, a standard room with a great view over the square and the city beyond, large bright period windows, and lovely touches like real keys (!) as well as a good sized fridge, a safe, and all mod cons. "Charming boutique, very close to Old Town. It is 15 mins walking distance from the center, but there are many options near by, several restaurants, bars and a big shopping center. The hotel is extremely clean, very nice staff, and delicious food. It has very good breakfast, with many options and very good quality food. I would definitely come back!"
