"I booked this stay for a birthday getaway for me and a couple of friends. It was so beautiful, the location was amazing just outside of a picturesque village. Everything we could need was provided. The beds were amazingly comfortable, the hot tub was exceptional and the communication from Charlie was excellent! Would 100% recommend to anyone looking at booking this place! "A clean and well-stocked flat in a very convenient location. Great appliances that all worked. A clean, comfortable bed and comfortable sitting area. Possibly the best VRBO we have encountered. If we had to point out limitations we would say the shower is a little small and it was odd that there were only 3 dinner forks but both would be a little nit-picky considering the overall quality of the flat!"

Cambridge Quy Mill Hotel & Spa in Cambridge

10/10 Excellent

"Outstanding food for evening meal. Fantastic spa and all staff very helpful, special mention to Elliot who made for a great evening. Hotel room comfortable and all I. Good order."

The Essex Golf and Country Club

8/10 Good

"Overall, the stay was ok. I was not a fan of the connecting door in the room that had no visible lock on my side, which made the stay slightly uncomfortable. The Spa could do with some work, with the sauna door blowing open every 20 seconds and gaps in the Steam room tiles creating cold drafts. The Breakfast was good, but I was never actually welcomed or spoken to. So there might have been things I missed that I was unaware of. That being said, it was a buffet style, so fairly self explanatory."

Holiday Inn Express Colchester by IHG

8/10 Good

"It’s a holiday inn next to a garage with a Waitrose. It’s a fairly nice one tho. Lovely reception / dining area. Bathrooms superb. Tv a little old but ok. Heating not working but had an electric oil radiator. Food fairly poor and very expensive like similar holiday inns. Breakfast was ok. I’d stay here again tho if necessary."

Holiday Inn Express Braintree by IHG

8/10 Good

"Lovely stay. We booked through hotels.com. Booking was easy. Staff at the hotel were lovely and welcoming. Breakfast was delicious. Room and hotel was clean and well maintained. My only comment would be the kettle in the room could do with descaling, this put me off abit that I wasn’t able to have my morning coffee."

Swan Hotel Thaxted by Greene King Inns

8/10 Good

"I was perhaps unlucky in that the first night was very busy and consequently noisy and I had to wait a long time in the restaurant for my food. The second night was much better. Away from the main public areas the hotel bedrooms were accessed by a carpeted staircase which was attractive and the decor was clean and smart. My bedroom was a single which was warm and spotlessly clean and had a good quality en suite. The bed was very comfortable. I was happy with the food I had both in the evening and at breakfast. My overall review of the hotel was one which gave good value and one that I would happily revisit."
