Cottage featuring lots of room, parking, and easy access to the best of Portland

Imagine enjoying the comfort and privacy of home in one of the most desirable and convenient locations in Portland. Come stay in our custom-built guest house that mimics our 1912 Craftsman bungalow (main house) and enjoy all Portland has to offer!

We’ve focused on offering you the comforts of home with a queen-sized pillow-top mattress, quality pillows, and plush, cotton towels and sheets. You will actually get a good night’s sleep here! Our guest house also offers a second sleeping area in the form of a sofa-sleeper in the living room. The 1.5 bathrooms and stocked kitchen are ready for a comfortable stay. Enjoy relaxing in the living room in front of the gas fireplace, watching your favorite show or movie on the Roku-equipped television, reading a favorite book, or working on a puzzle surrounded with lots of natural light.

We offer an extra fold out bed downstairs that will accommodate two guests, complete with sheets, pillows, and a comforter (note that there is a $25/person charge for each guest beyond two and up to four). There is also room upstairs to set up your pack-n-play or portable crib (not provided).

Accommodations: House, 1 Bedroom + 1 Convertible Bed, Sleeps 3-4, 1.5 Baths, A/C and heat.

Guest Access

The cottage is all yours. There is an outside space that is shared with the main house. There is plenty of on-street parking and you are also welcome to use the driveway directly in front of the cottage.

The comfort of your stay in our home is very important to us. If you find that something you need is missing, please do not hesitate to contact us directly and we will do our best to provide it. We are also happy to provide you with additional information about the neighborhood and other attractions in Portland.

The Neighborhood

Our house is nestled within a friendly and safe neighborhood. Enjoy short walks to the Hollywood Farmer’s Market, Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods, Hollywood Theater, and a variety of restaurants including brew pubs, coffee shops, family-friendly and fine dining (including the winner of Portland's best new restaurant in 2023).

Getting Around

Our home is located just a short drive to the freeway allowing for convenient access to the airport (15 min.), downtown Portland (10 min.), and many other neighborhoods. Using public transportation around the city and to and from the airport is incredibly convenient as the Hollywood MAX (light rail) station and three major bus lines (#75, #77 & #12) are located just a few blocks from our house.

Our TV has Roku that includes Netflix and streaming cable. High-speed Wifi info provided upon check-in. If you need anything to make your stay comfortable, please ask.

The cottage was very clean and quiet (so relaxing!) and made you feel right at home as soon as you walk in. The neighborhood is beautiful and within walking distance of restaurants and grocery stores, which was great. Hosts were quick to respond to questions, would definitely stay here again!

Perfect for a Wweekender in NE Portland

Enjoyed the quiet walkable neighborhood location, which was close to groceries, bars and restaurants. The cottage itself is well kept and furnished. I slept comfortably and appreciated the communication I got from Jeff. Will be back!

Lovely Relaxing Neighborhood

My husband and I found this Vrbo to be perfect for our quick weekend stay in Portland. There was lots to access within walking distance, including a train station which allowed us to access downtown much more affordably. The space was clean and perfectly sized for the two of us. The skylights in particular were really lovely! We absolutely plan to come back to this location on our next Portland trip!

Wonderful Hollywood Cottage

Cozy and clean

The place is laid out perfectly for a couple. The couch with fireplace is a cozy spot to curl up after a long day of exploring the city. The bed is comfortable and the bathtub is a place to let all your stress melt away. The little kitchen is very functional and has e Ruthie to prepare simple meals. Jeff was incredibly kind and thoughtful. We chatted a couple times as we were coming and going and he was on his front porch. We will definitely be back.

Great spot for a night in PDX

This property was clean, easy to get to, and seamless for checking in. I was only staying 1 night and not cooking, so the small drawer-style fridge was not a problem. The mattress was thin and not very supportive and the bedframe squeaky, which may have been issues for a longer stay. The 1.5 bathroom set up was convenient. Loved the deep bathtub with skylight!

Wonderful pied-a-terre in Portland

My husband and I were in Portland for three weeks to see family and to attend a conference at the Convention Center. This cottage was a terrific place to stay. It was spotlessly clean and is well laid out and well supplied. It's small but we never felt cramped. Our hosts, Jeff and Satish, were exactly as we would have wished. They live elsewhere on the property and so are available if needed, but otherwise gave us our privacy. Our brief conversations with them were very pleasant, and Jeff even delivered dessert one evening! We loved the location, which is in a very walkable neighborhood with lots of nearby restaurants, shops, grocery stores, and good coffee houses. It's also only a few blocks (an easy walk) to the Hollywood Transit Station. Getting to the Convention Center was a breeze and very fast. This cottage is at the top of our list for our next stay in Portland!

Contemporary and comfortable accommodations

Appreciated the modern style, and smart layout of this newer constructed ADU. Very comfortable for a couple, with every appliance you could possible need, even for a longer term stay. The bedroom and bathroom upstairs are spacious, light, and airy. There were a few minor issues with checking in but the host followed up to make sure everything was ok. The location is in a quiet neighborhood with plenty of street parking, yet close enough to walk to grocery stores and restaurants.

We stayed in this place to be near my grandchildren who live in the neighborhood. It’s a great little ADU unit with easy (walkable) access to grocery stores, public transit, and entertainment. Highly recommend it...you’ll fit in just like a native Portlander!

Great location, okay Accommodations

The rental is in a really great location, in a nice neighborhood. It is a newly built ADU/apartment in the backyard of the main home. I have two complaints about the rental and one recommendation: 1. The beds, pillows, and bedding were terrible. Everything was from Ikea, which is fine but not great. The pillows were flat not fluffy, the sheets were thin, not comfortable, and the mattress felt like a thin pad over hard wood. It made for several uncomfortable nights of sleep. 2. The whole rental smelled like over-scented perfume and cleaners. I usually love a little scented hand soap, but this place was WAY over-scented. It made me sick to my stomach. 3. It would be really nice to have a few chairs or a table and chairs outside of the rental. There isn't a lot of yard space, but on a summer night it would have been really nice to sit outside.
