"What a beautiful Chateau! The owner tells me that they spent 5 years restoring it. It is wonderful. Be aware they only offer dinner on Saturday nights - I checked before. The good news is they do cheese and charcuterie boards. This suited me down to the ground. A glass of red wine and I was very happy. Charming owners too. Great if you use as a stopover en route as only 15 mins from Bordeaux and 5 mins from the motorway. Sweet little village too."

"Our stay at one of the “gites” of Chateau la Gontrie was just wonderful. The cottage is spacious and was spotless when we arrived. The setting is beautiful. Andrea and her father welcomed us and provided us with plenty of ideas for activities in the area that would be enjoyable with our son. The village, about 20 minutes drive from the city of Bordeaux, is lovely as well. It’s a great find!"

"This hotel is the best i have stayed in receptionist couldn't help us enough restaurant was not opened the night we arrived but he told us where the nearest place was to eat about four minute walk the food was lovely and so was the staff so friendly we booked a hotel room but when we got there they said we have put you in a apartment across the road we have a dog it was heaven for all of us so much room lovely places to walk the dog breakfast next morning absolutely fabulous staff was attentive making sure we had everything we needed best continental breakfast by far in france location not far from motorway cant say how much i love this place "
