Southern Wave! Beachfront, Pet Friendly Fenced Yard, Paradise!

This BEACHFRONT beauty has 3 bedrooms and 2 baths with a large 1200 square foot deck. It comfortably sleeps 12. The living and kitchen area are wide open with bright, unobstructed views of the ocean. The kitchen has beautiful custom wood cabinets and comes furnished with all the appliances, dishware and glassware you will need. The master bedroom has a king-sized bed and large bathroom with a glass-entry shower and soaking tub. The guest room has two queen size beds with views of the ocean. The bunk room has 2 twin over full bunk beds. All rooms have flat-screen smart TV's with satellite cable. The large deck has plenty of lounge chairs. (Watching the sunrise and stargazing is our favorite thing to do) The deck is gated to keep your kids and pets safe from the stairs. The downstairs area is fully fenced and features a custom bar with ample seating and an outdoor shower. There is also a charcoal grill and fish cleaning/prep table. It is a perfect place to entertain or just hang out with the family. The yard and downstairs areas are fully fenced for the safety of children and pets. Linens and towels are provided with the house and our cleaning service keeps the place spotless! The house has both ethernet connection and WiFi. External security cameras monitor the property. Located in the heart of Crystal Beach so you are only a couple minutes from stores and restaurants. Fido doesn’t have to stay at home because we are pet friendly, with payment of the non-refundable pet fee!

Beach House Escape 2025

The property is beautiful. It is right on the beach. It has a fenced in yard. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the utensils you could ever need. The beds are comfy. The wraparound porch is wonderful. It is located near a great restaurant and big store. We would stay in this home again.

Great Home and Location

Southern Wave is an excellent home on Crystal Beach. The home is clean and maintained nicely. The fenced yard and dog-friendly are an added bonus. The Wi-Fi internet works great, and there are lots of games available. If there was a complaint, it is that the DirecTv package does not include ESPN, but that isn't that big of a deal as we brought our own Apple TV with our streaming apps to watch the basketball games.

Nice Relaxing Long Weekend

Beautiful house/location!

Everything within human control was perfect!! Unfortunately, south Texas was hit with terrible storms and the peninsula was without power. Our host reached out to us before we even arrived and continually communicated with updates. We were very sad that power was not restored and our vacation had to be cancelled. We received a refund within days. I would highly recommend using VRBO and this host!

Perfect house and location

This was our second summer vacation to Southern Wave. We love the property and the owners. It’s a perfect spot right on the beach. The house has all you need and the owners are super helpful and accessible.

Nice & relaxing getaway!

If you are looking for somewhere beach front, clean, comfy, & relaxing, this is your place! Step out on the front porch and it was like you were sitting on the beach. Zero complaints about our stay. We would stay here again! The host stayed in contact before our trip & was quick to communicate upon our arrival. Provided very clear check in & check out information.

Fantastic Vacation

Mid-Winter Getaway

This was our third trip to the Southern Wave and it’s still the perfect spot for a mid-winter getaway. Everything is as we remember it - comfy house, great deck and seating to enjoy watching the beach and the water, easy and direct access to the beach for walks, well appointed and stocked kitchen and a securely fenced yard for our pups. We spent lots of time sitting on the deck and we especially appreciate the gate to the stairs that allows us to keep our dogs from running downstairs without us. It’s nice to have access to our own streaming services on the TV to be able to watch things we particularly wanted to see. Monica is super-responsive, although we had no issues while we were there. After three trips here, could there be a fourth? Quite possibly...

Other than the very large bus, and campers that pulled up right in front on the beach to kinda block our view it was great. I’d recommend staying.

This property has it all! The direct access to the beach & completely fenced yard were out favorite parts. The inside was clean & equipped with everything you need for a great weekend. We will be back!

GREAT location and loved that we could have our dogs with us.

Fantastic!! Only thing to mention is it would have been nice to be able to use the lift for bring up our luggage. Otherwise everything was as listed and great location. I will for sure stay here again.

One Beach A Year

My husband, myself, and our Boston had a wonderful stay. Not only was the house exactly what I was looking for but also the community members were welcoming. Our pup, who normally has freedom to roam at home, enjoyed the fenced in yard and the huge deck instead of having to be leased. This property was definitely large enough for many more guests, but was a lovely beach house for our short get away.

Incredible home with private beach access. Started each morning on the porch with the sunrise. Stellar amenities and hosts are easy to communicate if anything is needed. Absolutely a favorite vacation and planning on returning!

This is a great property. Beachfront. The house was furnished with everything we needed and the welcome bottle of wine was a nice surprise. It was definitely large enough for 3 adults and 3 teenagers

Fabulous Beach access!

This was our annual family vacation with Grandparents, and my daughter’s family. The six of us were thrilled with having beach access from the backyard gate directly to the gulf. Wonderful wraparound deck where we “seniors” could sit and watch our granddaughters activities with their parents. The kitchen has everything you need and more! We will definitely stay here again.

Family Vacation

Not very impressed with the beach or the town itself. The Southern Wave property was wonderful. Spacious and very kid friendly. The only issue was stickers in the back yard. Couldn't let my grandson go without shoes. I would definitely rent the house again if it were located somewhere else.

Couldn't have been better!

I absolutely fell in love with the house and location. It was perfect, we loved the fenced yard. I travel with a service dog and a family pet and it was so nice for them to be welcome and safe. We walked to the little taqueria on the corner, found a few more great places to eat very close to the house. The beach was wonderful in this area. Overall, it is just simply a SUPERB location! We hope to be back at Southern Wave soon!

Beautiful beach house with fenced yard

We loved the house and all of the furnishings. The master bedroom bedding was on the older side. We were at the beach for a wedding and had nice clothes that needed to be hung up. I was frustrated that the Master bedroom closet was locked because it was the “owners closet”. Other than that It was beautiful, and clean. It was immaculate!

For the price, it should have been cleaner.

The house is right on the beach and we loved the fenced in yard, especially with littles. That being said, it appeared clean at first glance but it was not. We had little kids with us (9 months and 21 months) who were in the floor and constantly had dirt, dust, hair in their hands. We had to wash almost all of the dishes prior to using them as they had remnants of food on them. It was a holiday weekend so I know the staff was busy but we were disappointed in the cleanliness, especially given how much we paid.

Great Get-a-way

I really hate to say anything good about this house........ because everyone will rent it and it won't be available next time we want it. LOL. This house is great. RIGHT on the beach, just walk out the back door and back gate and you are on the sand. It is a little irritating that the spot behind the house attracts campers all the time so when you walk out, you have to pretty much walk right by the campers. :-). The house is very clean and well kept. The showers are great. It would have been nice to have more than 2 ft of toilet paper in each bathroom upon arriving but not going to gripe about that. The kitchen is unbelievably well stocked with anything you could need to cook just about anything you want to. It was terribly foggy most of the week but we still enjoyed the stay. I texted the owner and the reply was quick and that was nice. My wife kept saying she really liked this house. We will be renting again. Thanks for a great house.

Winter Beach Get-Away

What a fabulous time we had at The Southern Wave! We could not have picked a better place. Monica and Kyle have created a peaceful and inviting retreat. We enjoyed a mid-winter getaway, watching the gulf waters through changing weather and walking on the beach. Everything in the house is easy and comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked, the furniture is inviting, the internet and TV work efficiently (we watched the Australian Open tennis tournament after dark every day) and the heat works well when the cold front blows thru. We particularly enjoyed sitting on the deck, where a variety of seating choices let us sit in the sun or stay close to the house out of the north wind. Our dogs loved the fenced yard and there’s a gate to let you straight onto the beach. We had several meals at the house, but also made trips out to the Stingaree (shrimp-every-way!), the Tiki Beach Bar & Grill (Pirate Punch and the best fried mushrooms I’ve had in a very long time) and Steve’s Landing (such wonderful food! ... and no heat!) We had no issues that needed immediate attention, but Monica was right there whenever I contacted her. When we plan a beach vacation again, we’ll definitely hope to stay at The Southern Wave!
