The recently extended Museum in the Lower High Street tells of Poole's earliest development as a port sheltered within the World's second largest natural harbour, and of its extensive trade links with Newfoundland. If you want to explore Poole to the full, leave your car behind and join the Cockle Trail – a walking tour of the Old Town, which tells visitors how Poole Town developed into the flourishing destination you see today.
