Drive about 6 miles from HWY 50 to a lovely house with parking for up to 3 cars. The front yard is home to apple trees visited by deers, delightful birds, and busy squirrels! The home is accessible via a pathway with steps. Once you access the door with the smart lock, it opens with the kitchen in sight a few steps away and the living room to the left. There is an electric stove, a fully equipped kitchen with small appliances and a coffee station, a dining table, and a relaxing living room equipped with a wall-mounted, smart TV adjacent to large windows. Just draw the curtains to view the apple trees and hopefully catch sight of a deer. There is a sliding glass door that leads out to the hot tube and sprawling deck with towering pine trees behind. The deck is the perfect spot to drink your morning coffee or tea and enjoy the peaceful nature.
All beds are brand new mattresses with mattress protectors. There are 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. Two bedrooms are side-by-side with one queen bed and another room with a bunk bed. The bunk bed has a bottom bed you can pull out. The master bedroom has a king bed. The living room has a comfortable sofa and two rocking chairs that can be taken out to the patio when the weather is warm. There are board games, card games, and a wall-mounted TV with Netflix access already provided. You can connect your phone (or log into your favorite streaming service if needed) and have a movie night! The master bedroom also has direct access to the deck so feel free to use it in the early morning hours or any time of the day.
If you desire to relax, read/write in a tranquil space, or go by the Sly Park area to access the water, this is it. If you need adventure such as hiking, water skiing, horseback riding, snowshoeing, biking, kayaking, etc., there's no better place. If you are a wine guru, don’t forget to check out the wineries (over 140 wineries just in Amador and El Dorado County alone!).
See the Guidebook for some recommendations.
FIRES: Due to recent fires in El Dorado County, smoking is not allowed anywhere on the property. If you are a smoker, please find another accommodation. I hope you understand and join the effort to prevent any more fires in this beautiful county.
AC/HEATING: We do have a central heating system newly installed to keep warm during winter and cool during summer.
WINTER: The driveway is not steep and offers a smooth drive-up. With snowfalls, chains are highly recommended for all vehicles unless you have a 4x4/AWD. The road conditions can be unpredictable in the winter so make sure you check before heading out and/or call Caltrans for road updates.
TODDLERS: There are some stairs around the property, and the front yard is multi-leveled with some edges that drop a few feet down. If you have a toddler, please supervise them.
PETS: We welcome pets for a fee of $25 per night per dog as stated in the rental agreement.
WILDLIFE: Please be mindful of the wildlife in the surrounding area. Do not leave any food outside of the house. Dispose of trash bags in the garbage bin located behind the house inside a metal shed.
