CastelloBanfi Il Borgo, Luxury Retreat in Montalcino Italy
Growing up as a devoted history lover, I have always daydreamed about living in a castle. I used to recreate that magical word in my phantasy, populated with vassals and fortune tellers, with dames and cavaliers.

This summer, my stay at the beautiful Tuscan resort CastelloBanfi Il Borgo in Montalcino, Italy gave me the chance to turn this dream into reality.

This beautiful property is set in an ancient stone hamlet that was built in the 1700 sunder the protective walls of the 13th Century Castle “Castelloalle Mura”. What was once used as a dwelling for farmers who toiled with their noble landowners has today been restyled into the luxurious rooms and suites of this jewel of Tuscan hospitality.

While the architectural style remained unchanged and very authentic, the interior was renovated with modern comforts, premium fabrics and exclusive accessories.

We were so lucky to stay in one of their exclusive 14 rooms, surrounded by history, vineyards and olive groves.

"La stanza era molto grande e tranquilla. C'è anche un giardino abbastanza ampio a disposizione esclusiva di ogni camera/appartamento. Estrema cortesia. Ovviamente si è in aperta campagna, non in vicinanza del mare o dentro un borgo, ma in auto si raggiungo facilmente molte località interessanti del luogo. Su alcuni particolari, potrebbe essere tenuto un po' meglio, ma nel complesso ha un ottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo per la zona."

"Pros: Ottima posizione a pochi minuti a piedi dal centro del paese, posto tranquillo con comodo parcheggio. Letto comodo, bagnetto un po' piccolino ma funzionale con prontezza e kit cortesia, buona idea kit con spazzolino e dentifricio. Cucina in comune ben equipaggiata. Host premurosa e attenta, ci ha fornito prontamente tutte le indicazioni necessarie e consigli sui locali nelle vicinanze."

"The tower was a perfect place for our trip to Tuscany! It had a ton of space with a full kitchen and living room. The town it is located in is fantastic. There is a small grocery store, a pizza place, and a fantastic restaurant where two people can get a delicious meal and drinks for about €30 all within walking distance. You can easily drive from the tower to Siena, Florence, Montalcino, Montepulciano, and I'm sure many other places that we didn't have time to get to. Sauro was a great host and...
