"We stayed here as a couple for 3 nights specifically attending for a friend's wedding, half board (breakfast & dinner). The hotel itself looks like it's located amongst other nearby hotels/resorts/residential and a beach. " The villa was amazing. Not often a resort is exactly as shown in the photos but this was. The accommodation was spacious, spotless and had everything in it we needed for our stay, probably better equipped that my own home. Had a large balcony as well as a patio which was lovely. The resort on the whole was quiet, safe and had great amenities - free bike hire was a bonus! We were self catering but did try the restaurant/bar and the food was great. "

"It’s a stunning property. Loved the sunset champagne bar. Food and drinks are pricey, but there are other options nearby. The pizza at the Italian restaurant and the burger at the lunch spot near the pool with the swim up bar were yummy."

"We had a two bedroom suite at the Residences. Hotel is beautiful but it is very spread out. To go to beach and main hotel building you need to take a shuttle which you may need to wait for 15-20 minutes. For a 5 star resort service was a bit spotty. We had a mishap at breakfast- was told we can do a la cart instead of buffet but ended up waiting for 1 hour to get eggs which was ridiculous. This hotel is also outside of Albufeira so location is not super convenient - you have to drive to town. "

"Stayed for one night, the apartment was comfortable. The one downside to checking in was the timing was quite late at 5pm. however as it’s was only one night, and the complex is huge, I tried to walk to reception twice in the space of 90 minutes upon checking into my room and became completely lost. As a solo traveller, being right at the top of the hill in the back end of nowhere, I didn’t feel the safest throughout the night. Hotel Califórnia Urban Beach – Adults only

"We fully enjoyed our stay here. The breakfast every morning was phenomenal, the staff all very friendly and accommodating. Location was so convenient, you can come right out onto the street and there’s a convenience store steps from the entrance! The gym is quite minimal, so we went to the Marina du Albufeira and got a week’s pass at the Luxury Fitness there. The pillows are a bit on the small/soft side, but I’m sure they would have given us extras had we asked (we were always just so tired when we got back to the room!) We also found the room quite soundproof, despite being so close to the busy street and pool. "

"Hotel is located near the major entertainment streets around the beach The hotel has plenty of swimming pool/deck area for sunbathing. Also large number of chairs and umbrellas down at the beach There's a small but well equipped gym. Good WiFi everywhere. The casino has lots of slot machines, roulette and blackjack tables. My wife liked the breakfast, but for me the scrambled eggs were very watery (minor detail)"
