"A stay at this "grande dame" of San Antonio is a historic experience as much as a hotel. The staff goes above and beyond to make sure all the guests needs are met. Zarelda, the events manager, is charming and fantastic - as is her excellent team. All at reception and valet are polite, friendly and efficient. The event rooms and the old lobby are stunning. The location couldn't be better - across from The Alamo and right near the Riverwalk. Although it there are ongoing upgrades, you shouldn't miss the chance to walk back into its enchanting history. Don't miss the famous Menger Bar, where Teddy Roosevelt rallied his famous Rough Riders! The bartenders are fun and happy to share tales of long-lost souls who sometimes visit their old haunts!"
