"Exceptional property in beautiful rural location. 18 of our family stayed for a week and thoroughly enjoyed this delightful holiday accommodation. Superb pool, great covered/outside eating area, boules, table tennis etc. Air conditioning in one apartment building, thick walls and therefore relatively cool in the other apartment building. Really super stay. Note for English renters: Towels and toilet paper not provided as we believe is the custom in France."

"Loved the outside area, pool is lovely and welcome with the heat in our 2nd week (~38C). Eating outside, under the cover of the wisteria plant was also a pleasure to avoid the sun. House is nice, particularly eating and living areas although the kitchen could be equipped better (utensils, mugs etc), but we managed ok. "The property could be amazing and is in the best location but it was very dirty on arrival and one of the toilets did not flush. I would say in its present state, it is not fit for rental. The beds had plastic protectors which were very sweaty! The bathrooms are quite disgusting and one of the showers was actually just a trickle. Despite this the location is fab and it is very quiet. "We had two lovely week holiday at The Chai and cannot fault anything. Anne and her husband are the perfect hosts-friendly, welcoming and happy to provide ideas and advice for places to visit. They were always available but never intrusive. The house had everything we needed for a comfortable stay and was spotlessly clean. "Brilliant location to explore cognac and a great place to stay. Host is super helpful and conscientious. House is amazing and well maintained and equipped. Pool is great and other activities help keep the kids entertained! Great time was had by all and son is already planning a trip back."

Lots of other outside seating areas, great to unwind and enjoy the peace and quiet. We loved the pool which was a big bonus to the holiday. The rest of the house was clean and well appointed.
