While out on a day of adventure I took this photo while my friends and I were on the Blue Ridge Park Way. We had gone off the beaten path and stumbled upon this breath taking view Appalachia region. In this image you can see the untouched beauty of the mountains. With no sign of civilization in sight, but only the sea of green and rolling mountains as far as the eye can see. As remote as this area looks, this view is only a 20 minute drive from the App State campus. This is what makes the Appalachia region so unique to me, you can go from a campus filled with thousands of students to a place where you feel completely alone with only nature to keep you company. #appalachianechoes

"Fantastic trip! Stayed 2 nights and wished we could stay longer! The cabin was very clean and comfortable. The property was wooded and so quiet. We didn't expect to wake up to snow and feel like temp of 7 degrees, but the cabin was warm, cozy, and dry. Will definitely recommend to others and will be back! Thanks for the memories Bear Cabin!"

Pure magic

"I will start with my only negative on this home. The driveway is very small. We had our Ram truck and it fit under the covered parking area. But a bigger vehicle might not fit. That's it. Everything else was so good. The house had multiple reminder notes around it. Which I find very helpful. The kids and I loved every well placed detail. The toy closet was a huge hit. We're hoping to book this home again in the future. "

"**Peaceful Stay in a Beautiful Setting** We really enjoyed our overnight stay at Swiss Mountain Village in Blowing Rock, NC. The property is beautiful and peaceful—tucked away in the mountains with a charming, rustic feel. Our accommodations were cozy and comfortable, with everything we needed for a relaxing night. We were only passing through and stayed just one night to break up a long drive, but it was a great choice. Even though we arrived after check-in and left before staff were on-site, they were incredibly helpful and responsive via phone and email, making the process easy and stress-free. The area itself is absolutely stunning—clean mountain air, lovely views, and a great spot to disconnect and recharge. It’s the kind of place where you wish you had more time to slow down and take it all in. My family would love to come back for a longer visit and spend some real quality time here.
