"An absolutely amazing experience to stay in a Castle is beautiful surrounds. The restoration of the 11th century castle is incredible. Step stone walkway leads up to the entrance. Francesco was a wonderful host and we had a few laughs with translation oh for technology, son Matteo was very warm and knowledgeable as we explored all the rooms of the castle. Thank you Francesco and family for sharing your wonderful castle we would love to return one day. Enjoyed meeting Heidi the mountain goat very cool! June & Owen NZ"

"This villa was perfect for our family vacation to Abruzzo, beautifully located in the countryside with lovely rolling views of olive groves, vineyards and mountains. Very well equipped with a fabulous layout with multiple living spaces, bathrooms and kitchens. Loved our local contact person and welcome package. Having a vehicle was key to our outings to the beach, hiking and visiting destinations in the area."

"Il Frutetto ('the orchard') was an absolute joy. John and Sue were consummate hosts–funny, articulate, helpful and knowledgeable. The views are stunning from all directions. The estate is well laid-out, with a very functional and well-stocked kitchen, and the pool and decks were a true luxury. Know that it is a bit out in the country, so a drive is required to get to sights and shopping. We found incredible dining in Julianova (Taglietto, and others) and a great enoteca (wine shop) about 5 km away (but a very decent Montepulciano d'Abruzzo can be had at the market for 3 euro)! Sue also arranged a local cook to come in and demonstrate the making of a 3 course meal (a homemade savory ravioli, a superb lamb dish, and custard for dessert). There is much to see and do in Abruzzo, but relaxing in a place like Il Frutetto itself was worth the trip."
