"Outstanding quaint little mountain town with just a couple of bars, restaurants and small places to stay. Narrow cobblestone streets and tight parking. Very quiet and peaceful. Nice little restaurant below the hotel both run personally by the owner who is happy to chat, provide helpful service, and tailor meal times to your activities. Nice older stone, brick, beam, mortar and concrete buildings. This accommodation is jus a few rooms redone completely in modern style but retaining the old beams and wood floors / heavy doors. Very quiet, very modern, very comfortable, very pleasant with a genuinely friendly proprietor. Little restaurant has 6 or 7 tables and a small bar with very attentive service. Highly recommend! Larger town with all needs is only ten minutes down the hill on a steep and windy road. Very picturesque!"

"We recently stayed at Estrellas de Gredos and were really disappointed. The place has stunning mountain views and a traditional curved ceiling, but a lot of things went wrong. The biggest issue was a broken sliding door that wouldn’t lock. When we told the staff, they showed up unannounced at 22:00 and just said it was safe to leave it unlocked, which didn't sit right with us. The inside felt cheap too. The kitchen had flimsy Ikea stuff that looked like it could fall apart any minute. The plates were still wet and dirty, and the pots and tongs had seen better days. The only cava glass there made it clear they weren’t keeping things up to scratch. The garden was just weeds, and the breakfast was just a few basic pastries from the supermarke The interior felt cheap, especially the kitchen, which was equipped with flimsy Ikea furniture and appliances. Plates were damp and stained, and the cooking tools were worn out, including a burnt saucepan and melted tongs. There was only one cava glass available, and the garden was unkempt. The 'included' breakfast consisted only of a few long-life supermarket pastries, insufficient for our stay. Additionally, the Wi-Fi was non-functional, forcing us to rely on our mobile data. Overall, while the setting is beautiful, the lack of attention to detail and basic amenities made it clear that Estrellas de Gredos does not provide good value for the money spent. We left feeling underwhelmed and overcharged."

"We recently spent two weeks at this lovely spacious apartment in Piedralaves. It was a short walk into the local town with plenty of shops, restaurants, bars etc. It was also very close to a lot of lovely walking trails and a beautiful area for swimming in the river. The apartment was clean, there was loads of space for our teenage boys to have their own rooms. The kitchen was well supplied with everything you would need although there were only a few glasses and one single wine glass. My only small suggestion would be to consider supplying fans for the rooms - it got crazy hot at night and because it was sheltered and on the ground floor, even with the windows open there was no breeze. Other than that, a great stay with lovely hosts who were easy to contact at all times. "

"Fabulous Parador in the mountains. Upgrade to a Mountain View room if you can. Staff friendly and helpful, excellent restaurant serving the best octopus I’ve ever had. Rooms aren’t huge but are well equipped.Parador easy to find and roads are good. Can’t wait to come back!"
