"If you are looking for somewhere to stay in Pickering, 2 minutes from the town centre, this is for you. We were surprised to find that the house is on 4 floors, one bedroom in the basement; kitchen, front room and toilet on the ground floor; shower, bath, toilet and living room on the second floor; two bedrooms (double and two singles) on the top floor. "Nice location - property is small and functional - car parking is a nightmare - bedroom is next to main road so is noisy when trying to sleep - bed comfy and having a fireplace was nice and cosy. Gardens and alleyway to street need sone tlc. "

"The property was in a fantastic location with Whitby, York and Scarborough all within reasonable driving distance. House itself was clean enough and great for what was needed. Kitchen was well stocked with utensils and crockery. There was also information for things to do if you didn’t have a plan. Could do with a little refresh as some areas were a little neglected (bathroom mainly). "

"We booked this cottage firstly as it was dog friendly and secondly, it was in the perfect location for us. Prior to check-in, communication with owner Emma was excellent. Now, Cruck Cottage … wow! A wonderful cottage that caters to every need. It really was a home from home, comfortable and the attention to detail was impeccable. "Really nice couple of nights in the White Swan. Staff all lovely and friendly, nothing was an issue. Room all clean and fresh. Only one thing was the bed was too soft for us but everyone is different. Food was beautiful, limited menu and quite pricey but very nice. Parking was a bit limited. Couldn’t get parked at first. Overall I would definitely recommend."

"Obviously anywhere that makes their own sour dough bread, is the place to stay. Nothing was too much trouble for Pascale. Lovely welcome, great room, quiet and plenty of space. Good shower. Breakfast - apart from the Kelloggs offering- yuk…_is freshly made and a good selection. The location of Cawthorne House is brilliant, easy to walk into the centre. Nice walk to Thornton-le-Dale. Also has a car park round the back, so handy."
