This 5 bedroom 4.5 bathroom (one en-suite) villa is ideal for larger groups, with accommodation spanning 3 floors and including 3 living areas (one of which is a suite off the main bedroom), 2 kitchens (one leading to outdoor eating area and another leading to pool area), a large dining area, small balconies leading from some bedrooms and a further balcony off the hall way for reading and relaxing.
There is a large solar heated pool (rare to find) which has the added benefit of a remote controlled cover to keep out those insects, keep in the heat, and most importantly provide safety for family groups. The pool has internal steps for relaxing maybe with a book and a drink!

The fully enclosed and gated garden surrounds the house and comprises of 12M x 6M pool plus sunbathing area, various eating out areas, BBQ, outdoor wood oven, children's swing and wooden play house. There is sufficient space for a large group to relax together, or to provide privacy for those wishing to remain quiet from the group. The house is within easy walking distance of shops, bars, restaurants, river for fishing and playing, and station for easy exploring.

Indoor furnishings are rather particular and personal and won't be to everyone's taste, but sense of space and light is very good and the house is well equipped.

A little about location:

Villa Piazza is situated in the midst of the village of Piazza al Serchio which itself has various traditional shops, supermarket, small Tuesday morning market, bars and restaurants, banks, station for easy exploring and beautiful river for trout fishing and playing.
The train station has direct trains to Lucca and Castelnuovo di Garfagnana and it is possible to visit Pisa, Florence and the seaside with one change, and the cinque terre with two.
The villa is well located for exploring the local market town of Castelnuovo which is a 20 minute drive, the gorgeous and popular mediaeval town of Barga which is a 35 minute drive and the stunning walled mediaeval city of Lucca which is say 1 hour and 10 minutes away. Pisa, with its leaning tower is a 90 minute drive, and one can visit Florence in 2 hours. The famous Wind Caves are a 45 minute drive.

Closer to home there are plenty of little historic villages to visit, many of which have local festas in the summer. There are also the lakes of Gramalazzo, Vagli (with its hidden village submerged by the water) and Pontecosi, and some guests love to swim in the river.
The villa is also ideally located for visiting the local Fortress at Verrucole which is a good afternoon out, with stunning views and some interactive activities for the children. Also close by is the Buffardello tree climbing and zip wire park (ideal for both adults and children of all ages with a variety of runs) where one can take a picnic and spend the entire day in the welcome shade of the forest.

The real beauty of this area is the dramatic mountain scenery, and the hundreds of hilltop villages to explore, endless picnicking opportunities, and the wonder of a non touristy holiday ......

Very impressive with immaculate gardens and pool

We were a group of two families who had a lovely stay at this property. The property was spacious with ample facilities for a large group. The gardens and pool area were absolutely lovely and immaculately maintained, the heated pool was also a real winner with the kids! In addition to the the owners were lovely and we thoroughly enjoyed Rita's tiramasu and creme brulee.

Fantastic house in beautiful surroundings

The nine of us and the dog enjoyed the perfectly equipped house in a dreamlike environment. Although the weather was changeable, we were able to use the pool sufficiently. Shops and good restaurants were within walking distance. Also possibilities for excursions were sufficient. We're always happy to come back!

Absolutely Fabulous

This is an absolute gem, the facilities are fabulous, we loved the outdoor living space in paricular set amongst the beautiful gardens. We made great use of the impressive BBQ and Pizza Oven, and had a lot of fun with the Fussball table alao. The pool was a lovely temperature, and views were magnificent. Very handy for the regular trains to the rest of Tuscany and beyond, Perfect for our 2 families!

Wonderful Family Vacation

We visited this property as our first ever family vacation with three toddlers and it was pefect! The property itself was beautiful, the town is quaint and the hostess is sweet and accomodating! The only reason i gave the neighborhood 4 stars is because i did not take into account the winding roads when planning this trip which is my own fault. I would definitely recommend this property to others. In fact, I have already shared how awesome it is with all of my friends and co-workers! Thank you for a fantastic visit!!

Wonderful property and wonderful hosts!

We have just spent two weeks with our extended family at Villa Piazza and I can honestly say that it is by far the best holiday rental I have ever stayed in. This is no basic holiday let but a genuine family home full of beautiful things. It was spotlessly clean and immaculately presented. We felt very privileged to stay here. The gardens and pool are beautiful and there is everything here you could wish for. All this made even more special by the owners Rita and Carlo,with wonderful homemade cakes and desserts.Such a warm and generous welcome seems typical in Piazza al Serchio, everywhere we went, butchers, baker, cake shop and pizzeria we were met with a little English and lots of smiles. If you have done the usual Tuscan trip and are looking for a genuinely Italian holiday in beautiful surroundings that is less touristy this is the place for you. We had great days out in Lucca and Castelnuovo and drives in the surrounding countryside. If you have the chance to book this villa I would not hesitate to recommend it.

Großzügige Unterkunft

Wir waren in dieser Unterkunft mit 5 Erwachsenen und 5 Kindern. Das Haus ist perfekt ausgestattet und bietet genügend Platz. Das Highlight ist natürlich der Pool mit angenehmer Sitzfläche die auch in der Mittagshitze einen Schattenplatz bietet. Die zwei Vermiterinen sind mega nett und kommen gelegentlich mit Leckereien vorbei. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. VG aus Deutschland und bringen gelegentlich Lvorbei. Vielen Dank nochmal für alles!!!!

Super Villa, die Einrichtung ist Geschmacksache

Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt in der Villa sehr genossen. Alles hat gepasst, außer die erschlagende Menge an Deko und Plüsch war nicht so unser Fall und teilweise etwas störend. Ansonsten war das Haus sehr sauber und es hat an nichts gefehlt. Da die Einrichtung etwas in die Jahre gekommen ist sollte hier mal wieder etwas nachgebessert werden.

Stor og ren bolig til hele familien. Ejeren Rita var sød og kom med kage og hjemmelavet pasta. Dejligt udeområde med masser af plads. Bemærk at der kun kan tales Italiensk og Fransk med ejeren ved ankomst. Eneste minus ved vores ophold var meget hunde gøen fra nabo husene om natten.

Eindrücke aus unserem Urlaub

Die beiden Damen waren sehr nett und brachten uns Süßspeisen und Nudeln. Die Anlage ist sehr nett, liegt allerdings mitten in den Bergen und die Reise zu den Städten ist doch mühsam mit dem Auto, besser geht es mit der Bahn. Etwas irritierend ist, dass in den Kästen in den Zimmern unheimlich viel altes Zeug liegt und kaum Platz für die eigenen Kleider besteht. Außerdem sollte eine Matratze dringen getauscht werden, da diese kaputt ist und die Füllung heraushängt. Insgesamt ist die Anlage, insbesondere der Außenbereich sehr gepflegt, auch der Pool.

uitstekend

we werden hartelijk ontvangen er stond heerlijke cake klaar en een fes wijn. Het huis is heel groot en apart ingericht aangezien je buiten leeft is dat geen probleem er is voldoende ruimte buiten zowel in de schaduw als in de zon het zwembad is ideaal vooral bij 35 graden . de omgeving is schitterend in het dorp kun je terecht voor boodschappen of lekker uiteten wij hebben er genoten

Sehr erholsamer Urlaub

Das Haus ist sehr schön, großzügig und stilvoll eingerichtet. Alle Zimmer sind groß und gemütlich. Garten und Pool wurden täglich gepflegt. Die Fotos entsprechen der Realität. Wir wurden sehr herzlich von Rita und Lorraine empfangen, mit Sekt und frischgebackenem Kuchen und wurden im Laufe der 2 Wochen mit frischer Pasta, Süßgebäck und Gastfreundschaft verwöhnt! Die defekte Spülmaschine wurde sehr schnell ausgetauscht. Sowohl die Erwachsenen, als auch die Kinder haben sich in diesem Haus sehr wohl gefühlt!

Wunderschöner Urlaub im italienischen Stil

Wir waren zu 10 Freunden in diesem besonderen, urig eingerichteten Haus, in dem man sich gefühlt hat wie bei der italienischen Großmama:) Wir wurden herzlich begrüßt, die Nachbarin hat uns regelmäßig mit Selbstgebackenem versorgt und der Pool wurde jeden Morgen gereinigt. Der Garten mit Pool was einfach perfekt, schön groß, sauber, mit Liegen und einem großen Tisch, an dem wir jeden Tag gegessen und gespielt haben. Im Garten wächst verschiedenes Obst und der Kohlegrill funktioniert. Die Autos konnten wir im Hof parken. Viel los ist in dem Örtchen nicht , aber durch uns wurde es dann mal etwas lauter;) leckere Pizzeria im Ort und auch ein kleiner Supermarkt sowie eine Tankstelle. Man braucht mit dem Auto ca. 2 Stunden bis zum langen Strand in Via Reggio. Die Fahrt lohnt sich! Die Natur und Umgebung ist super schön! Ich kann das Haus und die Region nur empfehlen! Grazie Mille!

Echte Italiaanse villa

Groot huis uitermate geschikt voor familie van 10 personen. De tuin is schitterend en sfeervol. Het huis typisch Italiaans maar van alle gemakken voorzien. Heerlijk zwembad met bovendien een bakker en pizzeria op 3 min loopafstand. Midden in het dorp tussen de heel vriendelijke mensen. De kerkklok hoor je dus ook en de hond van de buren ook en ook de buurman die naar z’n werk gaat. Dus ook heel van al het toerisme of mooie brochures vandaan. BBQ en pizzaoven, 2 keukens, 2 wasmachines (groot!), 2 buitendouches (ook warm water) en plek voor iedereen. Aantal ligbedden (5) is dan net weer weinig. Inventaris is heel rijk gevuld. Beetje zoeken maar alles is er en aan alles is gedacht. Luxe door compleetheid. Deels gedateerd, maar dat is ook charme...

Stikkontakter. Det ville være dejligt hvis der havde været flere omformere til eurostik.

Huset ligger i et smukt område og poolen og haven var særdeles velholdte. Huset var dejligt stort, lidt upraktisk med mange trapper og overetagen var meget varm. Vi blev behandlet særdeles godt med mange lækre italienske specialiteter og fik fif om hvad der var værd at se i området.

Fantastic Villa with all you need and are looking for in a quiet authentic Italian Village

Travelling with 5 adults and 3 children the House was Great. 5 large bedrooms and 5 bathrooms provides the privacy and space you need. A lot of areas to relax and read a book or to gather for meals and social interactions. Everything is nice and clean, and though the villa is not new, it is well looked after. The pool area is magnificent! Spacious to sunbade and included as part of the beautiful garden, it includes a pavilion to eat or take a break from the sun. The garden is beatuiful and well kept! You will be well treated and met with hospitality, and maybe some surpricing sweats from Rita👍 The city is small and you will experience Italy as Italians live, remember to bring a dictionary or Google translate:-) A bit remote, but by car we managed to visit Lucca, La Spezia, Carfagnano, Mira (beatiful mountains), Lago di Vagli, Grotta di Vento and other parts of the lovely area. If you are looking for a villa with all you need, pool and peace, we can highly recommend.

Very good accomodation in peacefull area, very kind owner

This house is great if you are with a big family or group. The five bedrooms and bathrooms provide all the space you need. The owner is very kind and came to us several times with some local delicacy. The pool was great and we were in luck to be able to use it as early as late april, as the weather was excellent. The house offers a lot of space, indoors and out. There are several different areas to sit and have a drink surrounding the house. The area is very beautifull, with lots of options for walks in the hills. The house does have a lot of small steps between rooms, which makes it less suitable for toddlers and people who are using a wheelchair. For all other groups it is great.

Perfect ;o)

We rent the house with some of our friends, in total we were three famillies and had enough space for all of us! The house is clean and really offers all you would need for a good holiday! The area is just a little bit calm, not enough acticities for children... but nothing to do with the house! ;o) We recommend!

An amazing Italian Villa with great pool.

The Villa in Piazza al Serchio is a lovely place to stay with a big family. The property is well located an has an amazing swimming pool to relax. During the whole day the pool has sunshine. The village is without any tourism and the local people are very friendly. Prices of food and beverages are very low. The owner of the villa mrs. Rita is taking good care of her visitors. She surprised us with several local foods. The property is very clean. The interior is typical Italian old style. By train you can travel cheap and easy to the touristic cities like Lucca, Pisa, Florence. Overall a very nice location for a Italian Holiday.

Fantastic property and pool in beautiful village

We had a wonderful stay in Piazza al Serchio. The house is extremely spacious with 2 kitchens, 5 big bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. The garden and pool-area is the best of all! Lots of space to play and the pool is large and clean. Rita and Carlo took good care of us. Rita even came over with cakes and tiramisu 3 times in one week! The village and area around is beautiful, food is cheap and the train station is 10 min walk away. Very convenient for trips to Lucca and the caves in Aqui Terme. I will definetely recommend this property!
