Central of Phnom Penh
Hostel right in the central of Phnom Penh, then you can walk to National Museum, Royal Palace, Central Market, The Bus station... Very crowded and got for tourist. But condition is not good. Toilet quite ok without towel. No door key...
For cheap price, all is ok
5 - 7 minute walk from National Museum and Royal Palace. Facilities could be improved upon but is quite on par with Cambodian standard. Rooms are AC-ed.
I stayed here for four nights. I would stay again mostly because the staff were so friendly. It's very cheap and in a good location. I had originally booked the female room which was slightly more expensive but when I arrived after taking my bags upstairs I was asked to move to the larger mixed dorm because the light in the female dorm was broken and there was nobody else in the mixed dorm. So that was fine. However, a couple of downsides. While I was there we were only allowed to use the air con during the night. I understand it might be expensive but I would have preferred to pay extra to use the air con as it was very hot and it felt like they were confiscating the air con remote each day. The lady who came in to clean, again very friendly, didnt do much cleaning, she never replenished our toilet roll for example but she did make the beds and sometimes empty the bin but always made sure to take the air con remote! The shower was also cold but it was ok since it was so hot outside and there were no toiletries, I had my own so this wasn't a problem but when i booked Hotels.com advertised 'free toiletries, hot shower and air con'. The fan wasn't working in our room but since my roommate was sleeping during the day and wasnt allowed the air con they did give us a standing fan but the room was still hot. The beds are also very close together with no curtains, and no lamps only the main lights and the bathroom door is noisy so difficult not to wake other people.
