It was all very clean and new inside, the hosts were friendly and welcoming, breakfast delicious, and I liked the location and nearby walk along the River Stour: beautiful trees and meadows! "Took my husband away for his birthday and it was the perfect retreat. Such an incredible building and so lovingly restored. The decor everywhere is perfect and little touches like the music at breakfast (which was delicious) make such a difference. Kat was welcoming and we enjoyed learning about the building from her. "Such a peaceful place. The owners were delightful. The property is at the very top of a hill and the drive is very narrow with parking on both sides. A real skills test of your driving. But the stay is worth it. Breakfast by a panoramic window looking down on the city was great. Large split bathroom with spa type shower was the greatest luxury of the room. Would stay there again."

I was in one of the small loft rooms, and the room was clean, there was plenty of space for me to spread out. My window overlooked the back garden which offered a sense of privacy, especially since I had the window open most of the time. Overall, a wonderful stay - would highly recommend, especially for a soli traveller."
