This is a quirky hotel. The layout is strange and feels a little deserted. The decor is quirky to say the least. The bed was big enough for 4 people. But the room (river view) was spacious and quiet, the staff were friendly and the food was good. We would return.

Regular guest at this hotel: close to airport

I fly out of Perth regularly and as I have early morning flights to catch and reside in Mandurah, I prefer to have an overnight stay close to the airport. There are cheaper options in the area, but I choose the Swan River Hotel as I believe you get what you pay for: quiet, comfortable and pleasant. I have stayed here many times and I will probably return.

Dirty, noisey, food is trash, room service I was charged $40 for 2 deserts , one sticky date which was microwaved until it was a tiny rock, no sauce , I had to ask for cream. The other desert crème brûlée,in a ramekin, that was it. The high light was the kind and friendly reception lady.

Overnight stay before long haul flight. Restaurant a bit limited. Arrived late and wanted a snack but only full meals available. Breakfast very expensive. Didn't seem very organised. Fruit juice had run out, no bowls etc. Lots of steps to get to ground floor accommodation - extremely difficult to maneuver with suitcases. However, receptionist was very helpful, booking a taxi and looking after luggage after check out

Was disappointed with the restaurant closing so early especially as it was Christmas week. Hotel did not appear anywhere near full and yet our room overlooked the car park, would have been nice to have a view of the river as that is the main attraction
