"We had a short trip to leave my grandson at Rockford University. There was a lot of rushing around, back and forth, getting things arranged, but this house provided a lovely respite for us each evening to relax and get good sleep. The owners are very responsive, the kitchen is well-stocked, and everything is well-labeled. Even as modern amenities abound, the house is a beautiful specimen of Victorian architecture. "

"We enjoyed our stay, just had to clean a little first. We were not allowed to receive the address before the day of our arrival and we were driving 8 hours. By the time we got on our way, we couldn't access VRBO website. It kept saying they were having issues. So we had to find a number to call. Gentleman we reached sent us the address and access code. Other than some inconveniences, it was a great place for a lot of people. "

"Favorite part of rental is secure gated backyard so dogs were contained and within sight while we were on the dock. And we caught a fish! Everything others say is true about this place. Enjoyed many local forest preserves to hike. Definitely would return"

The space was as described and the pool was terrific. We enjoyed being in a smaller town where we could see stars at night but close enough to Rockford with plenty of things to do. "

"We needed a meeting point as we were attending a wedding at the nearby Anderson Japanese Gardens. This awesome listing fit the bill perfectly, and allow us to have a private place to retreat to before and after the event. Marlene was the most communicative host I’ve ever had and the property is in fantastic shape."
