"Clean and newly renovated. Cute. Only thing was they forgot to fill up the soap and shampoo but we had our own so not an issue for us. Breakfast simple but fine because at least they had a few options although it was only continental but good enough. Loved the room though. Very clean and cozy. Bed very comfortable. Linens soft and towels large unlike most places I have stayed."

"There was previous guest belongings in the drawer...it was not thoroughly cleaned. Room smelled musty. Inside of tub was stained/dirty. Room numbers layout was very confusing. Minimal signage for elevator available. We were told by staff at Denny's that this was an unsafe area."

"This was my first time visiting Black Hawk, and I planned the trip last minute to get away and recharge from the chaos of everyday life. My experience at Ameristar was exactly what I needed — a true breath of fresh air. My family and I run a dude ranch guest resort, so I naturally pay close attention to service and hospitality wherever I go. The staff at Ameristar were some of the most genuine, friendly, and professional people I’ve encountered. Every interaction felt real, welcoming, and delivered with pride — something that’s become rare these days. One morning, I accidentally overslept and didn’t realize it was already 4 PM, well past the 10 AM checkout. I expected the worst when the manager knocked on my door, but instead, he was simply checking to make sure I was okay. That level of concern and care meant a lot. We ended up having a great conversation, and I even decided to stay an extra night. If I could give them 10 stars, I would. Ameristar exceeded all expectations — I’ll definitely be back"

"The hotel had a nice sized, clean room at a very reasonable price. The bathroom was also convenient. The breakfast was above average in quality and food options. While the location was not very close to key areas, a 15 minute drive got me to everywhere I needed to be."
