Property was more in a tighter neighborhood than we expected. With cabins very close. But neighborhood was very respectful and quit. The host gave amazing perfect directions to the cabin and was easy to communicate with multiple ways. Layout of the property was fun, the game room and hot tub were a hit! Thank you and have a great 2025!!

This house was exactly as described. We loved every minute of our stay. The house had everything you could think of for a weekend get away. Right outside of Payson, it gave the perfect feel for a weekend in the woods. This friendly community was great for our kids to be outside able to play and go for a walk by the river. We’d love to visit this home again!

The cabin was perfect for the Christmas holiday - spacious with plenty of entertainment offerings. We are a family of four with two dogs and were very comfortable in the cabin. The kitchen is updated and worked well for cooking family meals. Neighborhood felt safe and the nearby hiking trail was a bonus. Verla was very helpful upon arrival and the detailed instructions in the cabin made our stay seamless.

Great location on the Verde River, less than 2 hours outside of Phoenix. Cabin was clean and functional, plenty of games and activities to keep the family busy. The scenery and location to the river was great, wish I brought my fly road to do some fishing.

Our stay was great! A quick 5 minute walk fishing. The boys caught small fish. The gameroom was great for some fun family competition from pool to a video arcade. The hot tub was perfect after a day of hiking. Verlander was very accommodating on check in and check out times. I had the most relaxing Mother's Day weekend.

Stayed here with grandkids. Took them rock hunting and did a little fishing. We had a great time. Kids loved the loft and playing in the game room. Lots for them to do! Owners had so many extra personal touches left for us!! Thank you!

Our family of 4 plus our pup had a fantastic stay at this property!
The cabin was very clean and well-equipped with towels, linens, and dishes/cookware, etc.
A family with kids will never be bored at Holiday Hide-A-Way- the basketball hoop, pool table, dart board, pinball machine, arcade machine, hot tub, and horseshoe pit were a ton of fun for my sons.
Not to mention, access to the East Verde River is less than a 5 minute walk from the property, and it is really beautiful; on one side of the water bridge the river is more like a creek in some places and my kids loved playing in the water.
Verla was very easy to communicate with, and she prompltly responded to any questions I had.
Holiday Hide-A-Way is an amazing value for the price when considering the location and all of the amenities provided- we definitely hope to return in the future!

The cabin was beautiful, loved the personal touches. Bottle of wine, games very cozy. Would love to bring my grandbabies next time. So many things for the kids to do. Especially loved the hand quilted blankets. Only complaint was the mattress in the second bedroom very springy. The jacuzzi was great and our dogs LOVED the yard. Verla was awesome.

We stayed here for a softball tournament with 2 moms and 2 girls. They really enjoyed the game area downstairs on their off time (and I enjoyed the pinball)! Verla was great to communicate with and was very prompt to our questions all weekend. She even left a little good luck cake for the girls, which they loved! Thanks, Verla!

My husband and I wanted to get out of the heat for our 2 year anniversary. This property has so many things to do although the time went so fast we didn't get to utilize everything. This place is perfect if you have kids. We have 2 Dachshund's and they loved exploring the back yard. I hope we can return soon and bring our daughter and her family. This would be the perfect location. Thank you Verla and Wes for letting us enjoy your beautiful property.

My family stayed here during spring break for a few days and had a wonderful time. Communication was wonderful throughout our stay and there were plenty of directions left in the home to guide us on working everything. We did bring food and coffee with us even tho there was some there for our use. We always try to leave more behind than we take just to be considerate. We enjoyed playing some games, sitting on the back patio, soaking in the hot tub, adventuring into town, hiking the tonto natural bridge, and spending time together as a family. One thing I will mention is making sure you get directions on your phone before leaving the house because there is absolutely zero cell service if not connected to the WiFi lol.

We stayed for two nights on a much needed 'get out of the valley heat' family vacation. Everything was perfect, we loved the cabin. Very family friendly, very comfortable, we loved it. My kids loved the loft area and the pool table downstairs. We had everything we needed for a great mini-vacation. Many extras we didn't anticipate such as books, movies, even toys for my younger children. The owners even left us the ingredients to make s'mores which was a big hit with the kids. Definitely would recommend the cabin to anyone with kids, a big thank you to the owners!

We brought 3 teenagers and 2 kids to the cabin and we had tons of room to spare! The teenagers had a great time playing pool in the basement and my younger kids had the best time sledding down the driveway. My husband and I were able to spend quality time with them with no cell phones or video games to interrupt us! The surrounding area was great for hikes. I had the pleasure of meeting the owners on the last day and she couldn't be kinder. Thank you for the gift I am hanging it on the wall in our home!

We spent the weekend at Holiday Hide-a-way and couldn't have been more pleased. Wes and Verla's place had everything we needed and then some. Our son enjoyed the downstairs area equipped with old-school Pac-man and pinball machines as well as a pool table. The upstairs had plenty of room and amenities. We had a great time sitting in the yard watching the sun set. The coolness of the evening allowed for a nice dip in the hot tub under the stars.
The neighborhood itself is a gem as you're a quick stroll down to the banks of the East Verde River. You never have to leave the area to find great scenary and abundant wildlife. And if fishing is your thing, the river is stocked with trout. You feel like you're away from it all, but Payson is only a short 10 minute drive away. We loved it, and I'm sure we'll be back.

Older property with not many amenities. The hot tub wouldn’t heat and the we had trouble with internet/TV working properly. Property has game room as listed for additional fee. Owners live next door, & watched us closely. Thankfully we were able to get refund. Owners accommodated request to leave early.

I needed a few days to rest and I couldn't do it, the property is really very old, the children were scared, just like me and my husband, the neighbors didn't let us listen to music when it was 4 in the afternoon, the sheets still had a bad smell The cabin has a smell of an empty house, nothing fresh and the coffee maker still had the coffee from the previous guest

We had a great stay here! It was beautiful fun cabin. Very homey and cheery,. Host left us a bottle of wine, s'more stuff, and dry cereal, and pancake mis. Lots to do at the house. Hot tub was perfect. The kids enjoyed the fluffly soft robes. They enjoyed the loft. The trundle beds were perfect. The pellet stove was perfect warmth and gave nice ambience like a cabin in the woods. The creek crossing was a surpise, but we were able to cross in our mini van and our Ford Leaf. The kids enjoyed planing in the water even though it was chilly in March. Pinball and pool table and darts kept the kids busy for hours. It was nostalgic to see VHS player in the game room downstairs that worked and all the movies from my childhood there. The backyard is great for playing horse shoes and sitting outside to share a meal. Really enjoyed our stay! Hope to return. Thank you Verla and Wes.

This was our first non work related vacation in 18 years and well needed. We didn't see that check in wasn't until 4:00 and we arrived early. We stayed outside at the table while the place was being cleaned. The first thing we saw as a huge Elk Cow. We were lucky enough to see her again the next night and saw evidence of her being in the yard the following night. We brought our two well behaved dogs and they loved it. There is a stream/river running all year. You drive right through it to get to the house. The house was well stocked with everything we may need, we only had to bring the food. The neighbors are very friendly and the neighborhood was pleasant to walk in each morning. Very quiet at night. Close enough to Payson city limits to be there in only 4.5 miles. We hiked the Tonto Natural Bridge and drove up to Woods Canyon Lake. VERY relaxing and just what we needed!
