The highlight of my experience in Girona? Walking the Passeig de la Muralla at sunset, hands down.

My first afternoon in Catalunya's second biggest city, I stumbled upon these walls with an acquaintance from my hostel, just southeast of the Plaça Catalunya. The views are simply stunning. I just had to return on my final night to try and catch the sunset, despite the catch-and-go torrential downpours that afternoon.

I highly recommend this Catalan town; in less than a few hours, it became one of my new favorite cities in Spain.

"Pros: La villa tiene mucho espacio para disfrutar, tanto si hace buen tiempo (piscina, barbacoa, mesa de ping-pong), como si llueve (amplio comedor, billar, juegos de mesa...). Se encuentra en una urbanización muy tranquila. El trato con el propietario es excelente, siempre disponible para que todo sea perfecto. Habitaciones muy amplias y con luz, terrazas donde poder comer al aire libre y una zona de piscina con varias tumbonas y sillones para relajarse. Todo de diez!"

"We had a great week in Can Pauet. The house and especially the outdoor area are very nice, and the pool is great. Air conditioning is actually only on the upper floor of the main building, this should be made clearer in the description. But the climate in the house was still pleasant and there were still fans available. The stock of glasses could be refilled, but these are really only small things. The house is absolutely recommendable."

"Pros: Tuintje, zwembad, prima stukje lopen naar t strand. Cons: Tuintafel was te klein voor 6 volwassen. Dus wij hadden de binne tafel buiten gezet. Tweepersoonsbed is een twijfelaar, dit kun je niet aanmerken als 2 persoonsbed. Zet daar een goed bed neer. Keuken was prima, maar erg warm. Zou leuk zijn als er een leuke glazen set aangeschaft wordt. 6 wijnglazen ipv 2. En glazen die leuk bij elkaar staan op tafel maakt 'thuis' eten nog gezelliger. Goede waterkoker zou ook fijn zijn. Er lagen...

"Maison agréable, bien équipée, vue magnifique. Ideale entre amis.Attention, une des chambres avec lit double se trouve sur un palier, pas de porte mais un rideau de séparation. Personnellement, j'ai été dérangé par le versement d'une caution.ce"

"Piscine pas nettoyée à notre arrivée, communication très compliquée avec l’hôte, réactivité très longue .La piscine a été nettoyée 30h plus tard. Nous avons raté quasi 2 jours de piscine sur 3 nuitées, sachant que la maison sans accès à la piscine n’a aucune valeur ajouté. Aucun geste commerciale pour ce désagrément. Domage !"

"Pros: De host Laura was ongeloofelijk behulpzaam en zeer vriendelijk. Stond onmiddellijk klaar toen we haar nodig hadden. Cons: De parking achteraan is moeilijk bereikbaar doordat de doorgang erg smal is. Met een iets grotere wagen vergt het behoorlijk wat manoeuvreerwerk."
