"Great little hotel in an excellent location. Underground garage a bit of a challenge especially if your car has a terrible turning circle like mine. There is parking up the hill so don’t be discouraged. Our room was delightful with its own little terrace. Ivor was really helpful with ideas of places to go. Don’t be afraid to ask. Additionally he speaks perfect English being part English. Well worth a visit."

"It's a beautiful building, beautifully furnished with antiques. Has a lovely library and church and surroundings. Nearby river walk. Parking is easy. Breakfast is amazing."

"The location next a very nice beach was its best feature. However, we were put into a room in a building that was not attached to the hotel proper rather than in a room in the actual hotel. But the staff was very responsive to our requests for a small refridgerator. And the beach was very nice. All in all, a nice stay."

"I travelled to the hotel on a motorcycle through mountain roads in the hope of seeing the total solar eclipse on 12th August. The place impressed from the start, Welcoming receptionist and an aesthetic vibe unlike anywhere I've stayed, and the room merited the superior' tag - with a sumptuous bathroom, offering an unprecedented (for me) shower experience. Wonderful after the effort of getting there. A multinational group of guests enhanced the sense of being somewhere very special. The view on arrival evening was sunny and sublime, but alas a change of wind direction, as forecast, resulted in us being enveloped in cloud almost all the following day, including during the eclipse. Breakfast was freshly prepared and provided a wonderful selection of savoury and sweet, including fresh fruits. A heavy cold confined me to the immediate vicinity after walking down into Villaviciosa for food and some drink as the bar service was closed due to the staff being limited on eclipse evening, but our in-room refrigerators were kindly stocked with drinks to compensate. I wish, on reflection, that I had stayed a third night, not only because of the cold symptoms, but because it was such a relaxing setting. Another year, also, I would not choose months other than August for visiting the area again. Visit again I will, though!"

"Me gustó el hotel. El cuarto era grande y comodo. Buenas camas, buen baño. El personal nos recibió muy bien. Pero…. En la noche, ya entrada la madrugada llegaron otros huéspedes al mismo piso. Debian tener dos o tres cuartos. Pero se pasaron por todo el pasillo entre risa y risa, hablando altisimo, corriendo y lo peor, tocando las puertas de los de más huespedes, incluyendo la nuestra. Les escribi pidiendo ayuda al hotel y no hubo respuesta. Esos huespedes hicieron escandalo toda la madrugada y nadie del personal llegó. En fin, no dormimos ni con tapones en los oídos."
