"Nice hotel with a lovely pool overlooking the sea. Very friendly staff; they upgraded us to a bigger room for our group of four adults without us requesting it. The hotel is a bit old but clean and well-maintained. It is within walking distance of one of the most beautiful beaches in Puglia, just a 15-minute walk away. "Beautiful view from rooms facing the ocean. Gardens are also beautiful. Very steep hill to walk around the grounds. Everything else needs to be cleaned up (stairs, windows, balconies, glass elevator) or painted (refresh). Needs lots of updating n rooms. Very big, complete breakfast (where the staff there were very nice compared to front desk). Wifi wasn’t working the whole day (was working previously). We were told when we called, in late afternoon, to try again (which I did may times), because...

The reception staff
Alonso, Matteo, Virgile, Isabella, Virgilio were very kind and helpful. They suggested places to visit things to do in the area and booked dinner reservations. The Restaurants that they suggested were excellent and all within walking distance.
The Place suggested a spa.
We had a couples massage with Claudia and Enza.
This is one of the best massages we have ever experienced. Thank you Ladies.

The Spa is amazing.
We also met the owners of the Palace and had a very nice conversation.

The swimming-pool isn't really a swimming pool, more a jacuzzy, but nice to be on the roof and enjoy the view on the sea."
"We really enjoyed our stay here, the staff were very welcoming and friendly throughout our stay. We don’t usually choose half board but we are glad we did! The first night there was a buffet in the garden, of local food, this was the best buffet I have ever had, everything was so fresh and tasty and there was lots of vegetarian choice. We ate off the a la carte menu our other 2 nights, which again was amazing food, with lots of choice, as was breakfast. The pool area is lovely and the hotel is only a 10 minute drive to the lovely town of Otranto.
We had a standard room, the only criticism is the bathroom could do with a bit of an update, the shower wasn’t great with poor pressure if you had it on warm.
There was live music and dancing one night and we enjoyed the tour of the underground Oil Mill and Olive Oil Tasting which was provided by the hotel. "

This is not a Grand hotel in the sense of the Danieli or Excelsior, however, that is probably because they choose not to have a restaurant, even though they put out a sumptuous breakfast and have a commercial kitchen and plenty of staff. Our room had filthy old green carpeting, but we noticed in the long hallway that some rooms have modern wood flooring, which is much more sanitary I don't know why we weren't given the upgrade since we are hotel gold members. The only other issue was the parking which we tried to reserve well in advance, but was unavailable, which was disappointing since we have a brand new Mercedes-Benz . The staff was very pleasant and the bathroom was spacious and had the best shower of our trip. Overall, it was good value for the money and it's probably one of the better hotels in Lecce."
