Great Suite
Really enjoyed our stay at esplendor. Would definitey recommend. We were told by other travelers in panama city that for the same price they got a small basic room. Ours was a 1 bedroom suite with kitchen --it was a condoloft- high ceilings, floor to ceiling windows.

Good location!
The hotel room was very big - apartment style - with kicthen, work area, living room, bedroom, 2 bathrooms + washer & dryer. The lighting in the room was not enough and on top of that, among the available light sources, some of the blubs were burnt out and light switches did not work so it felt a bit dark. The breakfast, which was included was great. Good location. Most taxi drivers do not know of this hotel even though it is the tallest building in El Cangrejo/Bella Vista area and so it might not be easy getting to the hotel. Just say it is close to the Mariott Hotel + Casino and it is literally less than a 5 min walk from there.

Great hotel for friends and business personal.
I found the Esplendor a very comfortable place to stay. Spacious room with great view from the 27th floor. Helpfully and friendly staff.Great location within the city. Near supermarket, resturants, shopping mall, casino, varity of stores all within walking distance.

The hotel make money on the site as charging guest
They have to many hidden fees.Every person going to visit your room even for 20 minutes they charge you 50$ and they charge tax on it. They dont have a GYM and pool is so small you can"t swim

Great hotel stay in Panama
The hotel was very clean and the hotel staff very friendly and helpful they also speak English good. It in a safe walking area with plenty shop and restaurant in the area. I really enjoy my stay and i would and will choose and recommend this hotel again.

A colleague and I booked a two-room suite, only to find upon arrival that there were no such rooms left. The extra bed they sent to the room was extremely small and uncomfortable, and no apology or discount was offered. While the hotel was nice, the service was terrible, and even though it's just a year old there was clearly maintenance needed.

GREAT PLACE TO STAY IN THE CITY
I was somewhat leary about some of the reviews that past guest had made. There were some good reviews as well as some negative ones. Despite all, I decided to take a chance on the hotel. What a smart move. The rooms condos were very spacious and well done. I stayed on the 37th. floor (3701) & had a view that was breath taking. The hotel provided free wi-fi as well as a computer with a printer for those who didn't have a lap tap. I took advantage of the spa service as well as the restaurant. Both were well worth the money. If you try dining @ the restaurant you must try the taste menu paired with the wines. It left me with a smile. If I choose to stay in the city Esplendor Panama would be the place. The staff was very accommodating.

Overall, I loved my stay at Hotel Esplendor. For a reasonable price, we got a beautiful 1 bedroom suite with a stunning view of the city, modern amenities, a super luxury master bathroom, and even a second bathroom. But the hotel was missing a lot in terms of service. First of all, the hot water in the shower was almost non-existent in the morning. Secondly, the service, while friendly, was inept. We asked for a wake up call on 3 different mornings and never got it. We also signed up for a tour of El Valle, which was a joke. Our "tour guide" barely spoke English and didn't even know how to get there! Finally, the phone system was messed up, making it impossible to place a local call. Finally, they messed up our bill and tried to charge us again despite having paid the price in full on Hotels.com. Bring your reciept with you!!!! Esplendor is a great place to go to if you know the city and only need a great apartment for a few nights, but don't expect anything in terms of customer service.

The hotel was beautiful with a great location in the financial district and in the City. The Hotel was clean and comfortable. However, the kitchen did not provide silverware or plates. In addition, the service was mediocre and some of the staff was not as helpful as they should have been.

Esplendor hotel - suite is a full condo
Spent 3 days there last week. My room was a 600ft condo, complete with kitchen, office, living room with TV, powder room, separate bedroom with TV, closet, chest of drawers, glass shower, two sinks, and private toilet - all with high end finishes. The level below reception is quite cool and chic with it's own bar, and restaurant with reknown chef. My last dinner consisted of a 7-course tasting menu with accompanying wines and absolutely splendid service. A must if you're visiting Panama. The hotel also had a wonderful masseuse, Elvira. The only thing I found extremely lacking was the service, and the fact that when you spoke to staff in correct and fluent Spanish, they refused to reply. The latter was something several of us noticed over several days.

Overall we had a nice stay at the Esplendor. We stayed in a 2 room suite that was very comfortable (good beds, but otherwise cheap furniture). The staff was extremely accommodating and friendly. Would definitely stay here again.

a list of failures of the service
1. I moved in Esplendor hotel to celebrate my birthday, i warned receptionist about it several times that i would like everything to be perfect. 2. the bathroom door in my room # 1301 was absent (there was just no door) 3. my used glass remained dirty on the kitchen for 3 days i stayed in the hotel 4. the second day i had to ask for towels as there was none after so called (cleaning up my room) 5. though hotel has 3 or 4 parking floors in the building, guests do not have a direct access to it, so if you have a car, you have to pay 1-2$ for valet parking every time you come to the hotel during the day.... i had to do it 3-4 times a day.... 6. i had flowers with me, but my request for a vase was ignored as i was told that the hotel didnt have a single one..... 7. for bathrobe i had to ask for 3 times when the last time i mentioned the broken door, so only after that they've sent me a kit with slippers Hope the administration will pay attention to the quality of service of their hotel

The hotel was very nice but the reception was not extremely bad. We waited for about 20 minutes to register with the receptionist who was busy on his computer and ignored us completely. When another regular guest arrived asking why we were waiting and assuming we were booking in a large group we told him that no-one was helping us to get our room key. We were just ignored despite having paid for a room for two nights. He then had to call someone else from the management he knew personally who eventually got us booked in. A bad start to our stay!

We arrive early in the morning and the check in was only at 3:00 pm. They tell us to make a city tour until waiting. When we came back, there were no room avaiable for us ( 4 people and only one room with one king bed). We stayed at this room with an extra bed (3 sleeped at the king bed). But first they gave us a private room, so I had to move after I was already sleeping!!!! They brought the wrong luggage, so my husband has to go down and look for ours. It hasn't enought towels, and they didn't bring more even after I asked by phone.

Dont even think about Hotel Esplendor Panama
The problems we encountered with the Hotel Esplendor include, but are not limited to, the following inconveniences: -The 2 bedroom suite we booked was not ready on arrival at 8pm, nor were any other rooms, since they had not been serviced due to a “lack of staff”. After waiting approximately 30mins they gentleman on reception suggested we went down stairs for something to eat while he tried to resolve the situation . We understood this to be a complimentary gesture, but the hotel insisted that we paid for this meal when we checked out, saying there was no record of such an offer. We refused. When we returned to the reception area there was no change in the situation and we were eventually offered two separate rooms : myself and two teenage daughters in one room, with my husband i in another room elsewhere. The following morning we were advised that a room would be available at 10a.m. We packed our suitcases ready for them to be moved to the new suite and left the hotel. When we returned at 3.pm the suite we had been allocated had been given to someone else. After another endless wait , and frequent requests to speak to the hotel director/owner and despite the hotel not being full and having plenty of rooms available we were shown a very dirty suite 19 hours after our check-in. We waited a further hour for a clean suite to materialise. This suite had no pillows or towels,crockery, cooking utensils or cutlery despite at least 5 requests. We obtained a hairdryer, iron and ironing board on the 4th day. The four of us shared 6 coat hangers for the duration of our stay. - The safe did not work, but was eventually repaired. - The people next door had a party until 2.30 am on the first night in the suite,there was an even noisier party the following night which resulted in security being called . We asked to be moved elsewhere, but the hotel said that these people were checking out. They lied . The same people were partying on their balcony, admittedly much quieter, for the duration of our 6 day stay -Getting the reception desk to answer the phone was only successful for 30% of the calls made. There were no phones in our bedrooms -Maid service was not provided on the 3rd day until 8pm in the evening, after 5 requests for the room to be cleaned. - The car organised through the hotel to take us to the airport failed to appear, despite the receptionist’s constant shrugs. -They could not find our debit card details on check out and could not confirm whether any charges had been debited to it for expenditure. We have travelled extensively around the world for many years and have never encountered such appalling standards of cleanliness, service or consideration. The experience ruined our stay in Panama. Since we had prepaid for the 6 day stay we were unable to move to another hotel without incurring another hotel bill for this period. Our constant requests to speak to the hotel manager, or owner, were ignored. They simply didn’t care.

two taxi drivers could not locate! staff at front desk was not helpful nor did they have accurate information or seem to want to help us. could be language barrier. hotel bar and restaurant were totally empty. complimentary breakfast did not even have coffee or napkins!!!

It's just OK
Esplendor was probably built targeting long term stays (15 days +) as rooms are very large and have kitchen, microwave & fridge. It is located in a quiet area close to banks and only 2Km away from a nice shopping mall (Multiplaza Pacific). It has an excellent french restaurant in its lobby and a couple other options at a walking distance (Libanese, Sports bar & a Casino). Continental breakfast + eggs & pancakes are included. Gym is basically useless as it's two only treadmills are broken. Swimming Pool is just for leisure and lacks umbrella's so you better wear sunblock. Service is nice & friendly.

The rooms are huge - really huge and well decorated contemporary style. The location is great and near many decent restaurants. Breakfast is included - it is ok. When we arrived at the hotel, no one helped with luggage which seemed kind of odd. We arrived around 9 am and could not have early check which we understand that is not always possible. However, for a price, they could arrange for early check in. The hotel offers their own taxis which are extremely expensive. They aren't keen to call a yellow taxi either. It is best to just catch a yellow taxi down the block. We try a new hotel for one night when we are in Panama City just to be sure we aren't missing something terrific, but this probably wouldn't be one of my top picks.

A fine experience
The breakfast was OK. However, the breakfast room could not handle the crowd at rush hour. The rooms were spacious and clean but they seem to have a shortage of towels. The main restaurant at the hotel was fantastic (open for lunch and dinner only)
