"Room was amazing, beautiful view of the bay. Room was clean, nice amenities in the bathroom. I took off one star because we checked in at the lobby, had to take an elevator to the 4th floor, drag our luggage (there were to luggage carts) down a corridor to another set of elevators, take the elevator to the 6th floor, and our room was at the very end of the hallway. It was a long way to haul our luggage. "

Sometimes, hotels are simply locations which one uses as a base for activities; although the Empress was at the centre of activities, the lounges were so inviting and relaxing that we had to question whether we just wanted to sit and relax or go sightseeing; we ended up going out a little less and sitting back and doing nothing just a little more."
