The room was perfect. The courtyard with the grill and hot tubs was great. The hosts were some of the nicest people we have ever encountered. This has been added to our favorites list. We will be returning again for sure.

Other travelers describe rooms as “cozy” but “cramped” is a better description. Perhaps this works fine for a couple or a single person, but not if your traveling partner has mobility and/or handicap needs. And it’s not just how small the room is but also the bathroom. The shower stall is so tiny that a large individual would have trouble turning around in it. The best thing this property has going for it is proximity to the beach.

Peaceful & friendly

A small historic building in a quiet, peaceful beach town. Mary, the owner, is quite friendly, helpful and laid-back, a joy to chat with about the area's history and natural world. A one-block walk to Pacific Beach State Park's short trail to a wonderful beach. Perfect place to relax.

Mary was a fantastic host. She gave great food and activity recommendations and the property was exactly as described. She even laid out towels and some toys for our dog. Would 100% stay here again!

Disgusting, filthy, and completely unacceptable hotel room. The host, Mary, was awful and showed absolutely no understanding or concern for her guests. The condition of the room was unsanitary and clearly not properly cleaned or maintained. Hosts need to take responsibility for providing a clean, safe space and should receive proper training on both cleanliness standards and how to appropriately handle guests when serious issues arise. I would absolutely not recommend staying here.

Mary was a great host, she was on the property when I arrived and helped me into my room. The room was cozy and perfect for me and my pup, had a nice kitchenette and was right next to the courtyard. The location can’t be beat! Could get to the beach in less than a minute, and within walking distance to the corner store, restaurant, and some little shops. Definitely hoping to be back soon!

Overall it was clean, in good condition, and good location. Not enough TP was in the room. There were no spare rolls, just a partially used one on the holder when we arrived. Bring extra!
