If full of people town of Brighton, beach and the pier is not your thing - then walk along the sea towards Rottingdean past the Brighton Marina to find this nice few km of path along the cliff.
Rottingdean village is worth a look as well, and maybe a stop for fish&chips.

"A lovely little cottage in a beautiful setting. We only found out that there was no wifi once we had booked. This also meant that there was no Smart TV as advertised. The listing should state clearly that there is no WIFI. Also the information pack in the cottage gave no instructions regarding the rubbish bins. "We had a lovely 3 day stay & could of stayed longer, great position for us, car park handy for the hotel. Reception & staff lovely anything to help. Our room was a standard room with great air con, bathroom very good condition and excellent shower, the room was quite modern and had everything we needed, we enjoyed javing drinks on the bar overlooking the marina."
