Kaiseki dinners were fabulous albeit slightly confusing with our minimal Japanese language skills, but the staff went out of their way to explain and help us have a great meal. Breakfasts were also good, and the shuttle bus to and from the train station was much appreciated."

"Stay here was great, we got upgraded to suite which was perfect especially having 2 young kids who need space to move around. The views from the room were amazing, you could see the whole of lake biwa and even the city. The location was walking distance to the supermarket/shops/parks, and even had a its own little convience store at the bottom. I would highly recommend if you are staying in the area."

"Awesome Onsen. Quick check in. The two open air mineral baths were clean, comfortable and relaxing. The one with the huge lava rocks, natural greenery and small waterfall on the 5th floor was my favorite. On the 11th floor the afternoon and evening it was gently raining and sitting in the Onsen with rain coming down made me feel one with the rain and hot water. The food was awesome, a huge variety and more than I could eat. The room was traditional Japanese and comfortable. My husband and I enjoyed our 10th wedding anniversary at Yumotokan."
