"Nice quiet hotel with comfortable beds. Our 1st room smelt a bit musty near the sink so they agreed to move us to a different room, much appreciated. The hotel has a good buffet breakfast with western and Asian choices. We didn’t try the onsen as it was closed for maintenance, there were family private ones available but too long a wait. Location is a bit far from the old town but is walkable, about 20 minutes. Morning market beside the river is worth visit."

"Compact yet cosy! Loved the layout of the room - and that we had a washing machin/dryer too. The front desk staff had one lady who was so helpful with where to go and visit during out brief stay. Great value and very clean - and all you need! "

"Loved staying at Onn. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Our room was very nice and the only one with a balcony. Much recommended if available. Unlike the email you receive when you book that staff does not speak English: they do! And they are super friendly. Only thing a little odd is that house keeping is every four days. However towels and bins are changed daily if left outside the room. The hotel is right on the Nagasendo trail. Can definitely see us stay here again."

"Everything perfect. We can go the nearest supermarket to buy some fresh veg and meat to cook in the hotel, very convenient. This is the 3rd time we stayed in this hotel. Walkable to the morning market and heritage street. Walkable Cheap parking nearby for only 300yen from 1800pm to 1000am. Thank you so much for this fabulous stay and will stay again next time."

"Fantastic staff who were always helpful and cheerful. The nightly open bar from 5-11 pm in the lounge was incredible and amazingly subdued: tastings of local sakes or the ubiquitous Japanese lagers. Breakfast alternated between Japanese and Western bento boxes, and were filling. The futon beds are very firm, but that was ok with us. Bonus: we left some important medication behind and the staff overnighted it to us in Kyoto for $8.00US!"
