Cute, rustic cabin in Side Lake, No WiFi
10/10 Excellent
"Emily was a great host and the cabin was perfect for our needs for the long weekend. Absolutely great location if you’re looking to spend a lot of time around McCarthy Beach during the summer."
Beautiful Northwoods Home with Lake Vermilion Access
8/10 Good
"We were under the impression the walking dock was right off the back yard, however it was a little drive. Not a huge deal but a little bit of a bummer bc kids couldn't just walk down there. Otherwise it was amazing!"
Wilderness modern lake cabin
8/10 Good
"This property is a boat in only!! No road. This is a busy resort lake. We brought our kayaks thinking this lake was smaller. Not really a kayaking lake. The property has several cabins that are close. We were lucky the only other person was the hosts son which was in the next cabin over. The cabin was good, clean and well stocked of pots and pans, grill etc. We caught lots of fish, even off the dock. The dock was very stable. The host was wonderful and helped us secure a shuttle over to the cabin. (Thank you). The people over at the marina were wonderful and very helpful."
Ely Log Cabin - Off Grid+Solar+WiFi - 40 acres to roam
10/10 Excellent
"We had a fantastic time staying in this cabin. We didn’t know what to expect being off grid, but was pleasantly surprised by the ease of everything. The cabin is very clean and comfortable. Would recommend staying here to anyone wanting to experience the area!"
Facowie Lodge - Grand, Premiere Lodging near Crane Lake, MN
10/10 Excellent
" We had an amazing stay! The cabin was beautiful, spotless, and had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. The peaceful location made it even more enjoyable. Our host was wonderful and made everything so easy. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it!"
3 Bedroom - Drive-To Lake Vermilion Log Cabin - Private Dock & Fishing Retreat
8/10 Good
"Very nice and clean. Fished off the pier but didn’t catch many. We went on a guided fishing trip for walleye and caught our limit. Ask for guide, Nate! Rented a pontoon boat and fished some more. Had a great time."
Facowie Lodge - (Loon Lodge), Premier Lodging near Crane Lake, MN
10/10 Excellent
"Dave was a great host. He was there when we checked in, so it made the check-in process easy. This was one stop of a multiple-leg camping trip, so it was a nice stop to have showers and do laundry and reset. It's very convenient to Voyageurs NP. Be sure to bring everything you need with you, as it's in a pretty remote location, which was perfect for us. There was plenty of space for us to drop the (small pop-up) camper so we could venture out during the day. The property is on a small lake, but close to larger lakes where the kids could swim and kayak. We were also able to bring our doggos with us. We would stay here again without hesitation."
Stunning Lakefront Retreat with Hot Tub & Fishing Paradise
10/10 Excellent
"We thoroughly enjoyed our time at this beautiful property. There was ample room for our whole family. The grandchildren loved the Lilly pad, kayaks, and canoe. The hot tub was an added bonus as well. Lake Vermillion is always so wonderful- we only have good memories there. The host was very prompt in responding, and everything proceeded smoothly. I would definitely stay there again."

"Strand Island is magical! We brought 16 teenage girls and they loved everything about the island. At first, we were worried about having only two bathrooms in the main house. But the sauna shower was a big hit. A girl also enjoyed the two-seater outhouse. Having a sink in each of the eight bedrooms in the house made a huge difference, too. We were also worried that the kitchen wouldn’t be big enough to cook for 20, but it was perfect. The kitchen amenities were high-quality and plentiful. In the house there is a full refrigerator, and a refrigerator/freezer combo. An additional deep freezer and wine fridge are in the TV Cabin. We especially loved the wildlife and nature. Loons, turtles, geese, and a fleet of 43 pelicans were there constantly. The girls caught one bass after another, just off of the dock. There is also a walking path through the woods that runs a half a mile to the north point and a make-shift baseball field behind the house. There are two fire rings and a dock wide enough for 10 people to do yoga.Overall, what was most exciting about the island was that feeling like you’re stepping back in time. The original 1920s decor and art blew us away.We already booked our stay for next summer."
