It was also a Blessing that I was able to book it at the last minute. It had a wonderfully quaint, 60s’ nostalgia feel to it. From the ceiling fans, to the furnishings. Love everything about the hotel. From the freshly picked papayas, to the homemade banana bread, freshly brewed coffee, to the beautiful sound of birds chirping when I awoke everything morning. To the beautiful surrounding foliage and garden. Kelli and the hotel, I felt,was full of Love and Aloha. If the above is what you seek I highly recommend the hotel. Would love to stay there again. "A very sweet, well-kept stately old property that exudes then charm of old Hilo. Check in was easy- note there are some fairly steep stairs leading up to the front door, as well as stairs within the house. I was very comfortable in my efficiency room, and especially appreciated the water, condensation, and diamond bakery cream crackers which were a much needed snack during my Merrie Monarch adventures! A great location and a comfortable place to stay for any Hilo vacation. "
