"The people of Belize are wonderful. Everyone we met went out of their way to make our stay amazing. The food was great at the restaurant and the drinks at the bar perfect. Our room overlooked the river and our dip pool was woderful after long days at the Mayan ruins. We will go back in the future."

"The view from my room was breathtaking. The receptionist on my first day of check in was very helpful. Just for the view, I would definitely come back and stay here. Definitely recommend others to stay here if they are staying in San Ignacio. My criticism would be the shower was a bit hard to use because the water was weak and that the pool was quite dirty. The water was murky. The person on the day I checked out could have been a bit more courteous. After checking out, he just told me "you're all set". Something like "Thank you for staying with us. We hope you enjoyed your stay with us." would go a long way. "

"Property was great, beds were comfortable, food was DELICIOUS, atmosphere was perfect, and everyone was friendly and helpful! Well thought out by Ian and Ella and well executed by them and their staff! Was really great to be able to talk to Ian in person since they live right above the lodge! Would love to come back but would CERTAINLY book direct with Ian's instead of through Expedia for this property in the future. Expedia makes it sound all-inclusive, but there were limitations (no bar snacks, only local-alcohol (not a huge deal for us) but no adventures were included (other than complimentary guided botanical gardens tour) since we booked through Expedia, whereas adventures would have been if we booked direct. Like booking through Expedia because we can book flights at the same time; and have never run into these discrepancies between all-inclusivity at other stays we'd run through Expedia. On the day our one excursion with the lodge was cancelled - due to weather - we found other activities to fill the 'void' quickly...checking out the Inland Blue Hole across the street from the property's driveway (just a short 10-20 min walk), walking the botanical gardens, and getting signed up that morning for afternoon horseback riding for our kids! We felt very safe and taken care of at Caves Branch and will recommend it to anyone! We'd love to come back for a longer stay to experience more of this wonderful country, property, and all the beauty and adventure it beholds! "

"The hotel was amazing! The staff was super friendly and accommodating. The food at the hotel restaurant was delicious. The views of the river from our balcony were spectacular. And, it just felt so peaceful sitting at the outdoor palapa-style restaurant/bar, enjoying the quiet air, listening to the birds, and having fun watching for our crocodile friend in the river, lol! We were in room 1A which was on the lower level, closest to the restaurant. It had a nice corner view of the river, just lovely. The bed was comfortable and we had hot water (as opposed to our neighbors who claimed they never got hot water in their shower, so I guess we lucked out!). We booked the Lamanai Mayan Ruin tour through the hotel. They picked us up at their dock right at the hotel which was super convenient in that we didn't have to get transportation to the pick-up spot. The Orange Walk town is about a 10 min drive from the hotel, but the staff was able to get us a taxi to the town so that was a fun day checking out the main town. The ONLY issue I had was the shower situation. It was a smallish corner-style shower with no door or curtain, so water would get all over the bathroom floor after we showered. It made a mess and we had to be careful not to slip on the wet floor after showering. Other than that, everything was great, and we would definitely come back to this hotel!"
