"A super clean, tidy, and comfortable place to stay in laid back Kawhia, The ever changing view over the harbour as the tide rolled in and out was very relaxing and even though the fishing trip was cancelled due to the big swell we had some quality time to chill out. "Property is fine. I did have to ask for details on how to get in on the day we were due to arrive but we received them in plenty of time before we checked in. The road noise is loud. I'd go prepared with earplugs if you're not used to being that close to traffic normally! Not something the owner can change but something to note when traveling with kids or elderly like I was."

"We stayed here with our 2 kiddos ages 10 & 12. It was clean and cute and the kids were totally blown away by the experience of staying in a hobbit house! It definitely has a motel vibe, and the kitchenette is small, but there were some decorating touches that really added to the hobbit feel. The owners provided space heaters that were really nice to have, but the bunk room definitely developed a musty smell that we couldn’t get rid of. The property is really pretty to walk around and super close...

"We needed somewhere close to UoW for the Open Day, and this was the closest, reasonable priced property. It was a bit tricky finding the driveway in the dark (without satnav shouting directions) and at first I was a bit wary of the immediate area, BUT this was the cleanest place I have ever stayed. "A nice house with plenty of space inside and outside. The only problem was there was still rubbish from the people before us and the owner provided us with the wrong pin for the front door. Nevertheless one of the sliding doors was open so access was still possible."
