"Our hosts were great. They upgraded us to a bigger room as they had the space. The food was really good and plenty of it at fantastic prices. Our room had an electric fire which was very useful as the weather was cold for June. Overall it was an old quirky character full property with really friendly owners. We would come again if in the area."

"Brathay Lodge makes for a very comfortable and convenient stay in the Lake District. The room was modern and well-maintained and the staff friendly and considerate. There is a parking fee (unless booked direct) but you’d have to pay elsewhere anyway. If you have an electric car it’s a good idea to let them know in advance so you can use their reasonably-priced ProjectEV charger. The continental breakfast was fresh and varied and set us up for the day. Would definitely stay there again. "

"Newly refurbished accommodation was to a very high standard. The bar also serves as a dining room and is not ideal in that mode, but the bar and other pub rooms are so traditional that the ambiance is extradinary. One could quite believe that it hasn’t changed at all in last 200 years!"

The shepherds huts are perfect everything you need for a relaxing break nice touch with the dressing gowns so we can get to and from hot tub. Ideally situated for walking don’t have to use car if you don’t want to."

Easy access to buses to explore the many towns around the lake, as we did not have a car. Chris and Robyn were extremely helpful and lovely to chat to - cannot recommend highly enough."

"Right on the edge of Grasmere village, a maximum 10 minute walk. Suite was very comfortable, clean and nicely decorated. Two pubs within walking distance, the best being the Travellers Rest, excellent food. One thing to note, no breakfast is included with this accommodation but you do get a discount at a good local 'cafe'."
