Aurora Hotel at Reykjavik-Keflavik Airport Terminal KEF

"We stayed here before an early morning flight back home. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable and the shower pressure was great. The location was excellent, only a 5 minute walk to the terminal. Only drawbacks were the pillows and the actual location of our exact room. There was only one available per person and they were so thin that we didn’t sleep well. Our room was also above the main entrance, and there were people outside talking until the early hours of the morning, which also impacted our sleep quality. Despite these two things, we would definitely stay here again if we’re back in Iceland and have a morning flight home."

"This property was an oasis in the middle of the lava field. The staff was very helpful and assisted us with arranging the free shuttle to/from the Blue Lagoon that added to our spa experience. The rooms were spacious and breakfast was wonderful. Plan to stay if you’re are just arriving or on your last day because getting to the airport was fast and easy."

"This hotel is in a small fishing town and there isn't really much around so you want to get a rental car because taxis are very expensive but it was close to the airport and there is a cafe and grocery store within walking distance. They let me check in early but my room was not cleaned. However, after 24 hours of travel it was a blessing. Staff were great and the common areas were well kept, rims were small but private."

"We stayed overnight to catch an early flight the following day. Beautiful cabin, had everything we needed. Clean and close to shopping and dining. Loved the community kitchen area. Had coffee, tea and many useful items for the guests. Hosts super responsive and friendly. Highly recommend."

"While nothing fancy, this place was nothing short amazing. Self check in and check out made things super easy and means there is no interaction with hotel staff. The beds were super cozy and the room was spacious. We had an ocean view with a balcony which made it that much better. The best part though was the restaurant. There are only about 20-30 rooms in the hotel but the restaurant was busy. The locals come to eat there and that says a lot to me. The fish was the best I’ve ever had and my son said the same. The service at the restaurant was wonderful and offered a view of the water as well. I’d stay here again whether for another overnight stay or for a week."

"When we decided to extend our trip by one day, we stayed here overnight because it was close to KEF. We had such a nice experience! We wish we had more time to enjoy the hotel restuarant and the local area. Next year we will plan to stay for 2 nights. The refrig in the room was barely cold but it did not matter to us since we were not using it except for drinks and it would have been nice to have extra pillows (or fluffier ones). Other than that, we were pleased with our accomodations. Staff was friendly. The sunset was breathtaking at the nearby lighthouse and it was a memorable end to our trip when the light gently passed through our curtains during the night."
