Dancing Bears Cabin | Breathtaking Sunrise Mountain Views!

Recharge with breathtaking views from the back deck of Dancing Bears Cabin, nestled on a tranquil and spacious 6-acre property in the majestic Blue Ridge Mountains. Wake up to stunning sunrises over rolling peaks, as this mountainside log cabin reveals a new horizon masterpiece with each season. Located within Gateway Mountain, a 3,000-acre nature preserve and gated community, this charming 3-bedroom, 2-bath log cabin is perfect for family gatherings, friend reunions, or a romantic getaway.

Spend your evenings roasting s'mores over the fire pit (wood included) under a starlit sky, or cozy up inside by the crackling fireplace. Fire up the charcoal grill for a delicious barbecue and dine al fresco with the mountains as your backdrop. Explore the natural beauty of Gateway Mountain, with two pristine lakes, a trout pond for catch-and-release fishing (no license required), a picturesque waterfall park, hiking trails, picnic areas, and abundant wildlife. Indoors, enjoy games, music, and movies via DVDs and an extensive satellite channel selection. Work remotely with ease using the fast Starlink Wi-Fi and dedicated workstation. The fully-stocked kitchen and local artwork will make you feel right at home.

For nearby adventures, Dancing Bears Cabin is conveniently located close to Gateway Mountain's main entrance, just 10 minutes off I-40. Western North Carolina's top attractions are within easy reach: Black Mountain, Asheville, and the Blue Ridge Parkway are a short 30 to 45-minute drive, while Lake Lure and Chimney Rock are just 30 minutes away.

Experience the unique charm of this custom log cabin, constructed entirely from natural materials, with no sheetrock, paint, or carpet. Your perfect mountain retreat awaits at Dancing Bears Cabin!

Please note: During the colder winter months (from December through March), icy and/or snowy road conditions and delayed snow plow operations are possible within the development. We strongly recommend AWD or 4WD vehicles and travel insurance throughout the year, but especially for those staying in the Gateway Mountain development during the winter months.

No parking is allowed on roadways or at gate entrances. No RVs, boat trailers, camping trailers, or trailers of any kind are permitted in the Gateway Mountain Community. The driveway is steep but paved, and plenty of parking is available at the cabin.

This year we decided to go to North Carolina al for our Yearly winter vacation..We found Dancing Bears and were not disappointed, it was just as advertised, away from it all but not too far ..The management team was great and was there to answer any questions we had.Would definitely go back and would recommend it for anyone thinking of taking a trip to the area

Compact but perfect for our family of five, beautiful setting with long range Mountain views - and we actually saw 2 bears entering the woods beyond the fence next to the property, they were not dancing but seemed very content!

Great place for a family stay! Definitely check out the waterfall park within Gateway. Amazing! Ample space for our small family. The only constructive feedback is related to the charcoal grills, which are in need of repair. Overall great stay!

Great time at Dancing Bears cabin in Old Fort NC. Location and cabin were perfect for our long weekend. The cabin is spacious and well appointed. Not recommended if icy roads could be a factor due to driveway slope. But views are spectacular and we even saw a black bear across the fence!! Recommended for all.

A group of us from work stayed here while riding motorcycles in the Little Switzerland area. It provided the perfect place for us all to stay and rest up. There was plenty of beds and it was very quite and relaxing so we could wind down and rest up after a long hard day of riding. The best part was all of us sitting around the fire at the end of day trading stories. Everything was provided for us and the owners were very friendly and helpful. I would love bring my family back here and enjoy this beautiful home.

We had such a great, relaxing time at this house! It is a lovely, clean, well-furnished and well-equipped cabin! We were very comfortable, and it was just perfect for a little retreat! We were delighted to be able to bring our golden retriever -- who also had a great time! Lots of nice long walks! We all loved it! We love the layout of the house. It would be a perfect place to take our grown kids -- and their kids. We would highly recommend this house to anyone wanting to "get away from it all" and enjoy some time to relax and hike.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had the most amazing vacation in the mountains and can't wait to return. The cabin was very clean, comfortable and beautiful. We loved sitting on the front porch looking at the mountain view. We did have a problem with the coffee maker, but, we bought one and left for the next guests to enjoy. This was the best vacation we have had in a very long time!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was the 5th rental we have used at GM and turned out to be the best! Greybeard rental staff was great and communicated regularly providing all needed information and much more. We would stay in this log home again. The only challenge is the slow internet and one bar cellular reception.

I don't even know where to begin. Absolutely amazing! The pictures don't come close to how beautiful this cabin is and how breathtaking the view is. Not to mention the absolute peace and quiet. Just heavenly! It had everything and more that you needed; even down to firewood and starter provided for the fire pit and fireplace. Proximity to Black Mountain, Asheville , Chimney Rock, and Lake Lure is ideal. Lori couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. Our family had a wonderful time and would love to go back!!

The fact that im even taking time to review a property should speak for itself. When we got to the cabin everything was exactly like the pictures described. The cabin was gorgeous. It was very clean and comfortable and made our stay enjoyable. I loved the fact that the property itself was gated as well as the community that the property resided in. The cabin had everything available, the rooms were nicely kept and the bathrooms were gorgeous. The balcony from the master bedroom had an amazing view. This cabin I would say is perfect for families with kids, not so much couples retreat. I plan to come back in the fall when the leaves change and would definately stay here again.

8/10

The cabin was great! It was a little remote but was easy to access. Beautiful views, quiet evenings and mornings with just the occasional noise of cars leaving the community. Initially the entry code did not work. It took several tries and about 10 minutes and suddenly the lock took the code and everything was fine. The town of Old Fort was cute but was very small and really had only one restaurant for dinner, Hillman Beer! It was fabulous! We brought our own hummingbird feeder and they found it quickly. We enjoyed watching them come while sitting in the deck. We were sure to bring it in whenever we left the cabin so it didn’t entice the bears and other wildlife to venture close to the cabin. The towns of Marion and Black Mountain were very close and both had cute shops and good restaurants. As long as you don’t mind curvy mountain roads and having a lot of piece and quiet, you’ll enjoy your stay at this cabin!

The house was beautiful but not up to the normal level we always find with Verbo properties. It was the small things we found annoying and not renter friendly. No ice maker or even ice trays, no fitted sheets- which made our sleeping experiences horrible!, the paper products were very substandard so much that we went to town and bought our own toilet paper and paper towels, along with an 8.00 bag of ice! It would have been nice to have had a few comfortable chairs by the fire pit too. And the popcorn left for us was stale and out of date! Where were the coffee filters? Again, it’s the little things that matter and make for a positive experience! Not sure we’ll ever rent a Greybeard property again.

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Beautiful property in the right location for us. The only complaints we’re 1.I got multiple contradictory emails for check in and check out instructions so it was extremely confusing. Even after getting a phone call that “new card pick up instructions had been sent to me and that I needed to make sure to follow that email, I got 2 more emails with the wrong information before checking in. 2. The coffee maker took 40 minutes to make a single pot of coffee and even then it only put out half the coffee it should. With 4 adults in the house, having morning coffee took 2.5 hours. I sent an email about it but never got a response.
