"Hôte très sympathique! L’endroit surprend à l’arrivée mais on est rapidement charmé. L’annonce stipule deux bains à remous et une piscine alors qu’il y a seulement un bain à remous. Un peu déçu sur ce points mais l’endroit répondait à nos besoins: BBQ, vaisselles, terrasses, salles de bains complètes et fermées, épices, etc."

"My wife and I travel a lot, and so far there have only been four places in my life that have genuinely altered the way I see the world: 1. Ryutakuzenji in Takasaki, Japan 2. McGann’s Pub in Doolin, Ireland 3. Guardian Guesthouse in Giza, Egypt 4. Zermatt, Switzerland I say that because Herring House is now one of those places. Sitting on the porch of the cabin, feeling the cool breeze move through the grass, surrounded by the silence of the town—it was so tranquil that it genuinely blew me away. The owners are friendly but never intrusive. The cabin is quaint, comfortable, and full of charm. The town itself is so picturesque it almost feels like you’re living in a movie. If I had to pick one negative, it’d be that the Wi-Fi is weak and slow. But honestly, if you’re coming here planning to spend your time on the internet, you’re missing the whole point of the experience. This is the kind of place that changes you for the better. I know I’ll be coming back."

"Geweldig huis op een fantastische plek! Het uitzicht is fenomenaal en alles is aanwezig!We hebben wel een tip: bij zo'n prachtig en luxe huis verwacht je goede bedden (ook voor de prijs overigens). Het tweepersoonsbed is prima, en als je kinderen hebt is een stapelbed ook prima. Maar voor volwassenen is een stapelbed (dat kraakt) wel een minpunt. De slaapbank die in dezelfde kamer staat is niet veel beter."

"Located in Hofsos, small town, as others have noted, the details says restaurant but there is not one on site or even in the town. There is a convenience store across the street that has pizza and sub sandwiches, that is the only nearby dining option. The kitchen is nice but small. The whole time we were there two ladies in the other room camped out in it. Be aware also that it's not clear the actual property from the photos but it's the 8th or 9th photo. Not the black house. The rooms are simple but clean. Shower is a little small but you have your own. The local pool was great, stunning views and a nice little walk after off to the side to view basalt cliffs."

"Super cute place once I found it. The tools are located above a tiny grocery store and I hadn’t realized that. Don’t let the store deter you from booking. I arrived around 8, it was closed. Parking lot of 4-6 spaces were empty. All good, very quiet and peaceful. Very nice area right by the water. The only reason I’m giving this a 4 out of 5 is that there was NO ONE else booked in the entire place and I did not have a room facing the water? Had I, I would have had a stunning view of the water and sunset probably. I had to go in the kitchen area to watch the sunset."
