"Honestly when I read the reviews about this place after my husband booked, I was very sceptical. People said it was dirty, had cockroaches, no hot water. None of this was true. About the hot water, you must realize that water heaters in Europe are half the size of North American ones. We had plenty of hot water. The only thing we didn't like are the beds are a little hard but it was the same at the previous place we stayed. We made do. Also tile floors are always cold which I'm not fond of but...

"The condo was very neat and clean and had everything we could need. There was even a welcome gift that was much-appreciated to help us get settled. The complex was lovely and very well-maintained, and was within walking distance to local activities and incredible beaches and boardwalks. Our host was very friendly and accessible. "This apartment was perfect for my wife and I. It was exactly as advertised. Location was ideal for walking to the Old Town, the Marina, the Beach and Pingo Doce. The south facing patio overlooking the green space was a highlight. My wife enjoyed the bathtub and the shower was great. Karel and Estela were very accommodating hosts. Hope to return."

"This rental is located in a what seems to be an old hotel. When you walk onto the property there is an abandoned pool to the right. The interior of the building is old and poorly lit. The aparetment we stayed in needs some love. While it was clean and got us through our stay i won't be recommending it to people i know. "Carlos was an excellent host. He offered to arrange pick up at the bus station, met us at the door and told us everything we would need to know about the property and the area. He even brought some delicious tarts, 2 beer and a bottle of wine. Knowing we were from Canada, he went out of his way to make sure that we could watch NHL hockey while in Portugal! We appreciated the grab bar and the bathmat in the bathtub. Many properties do not provide those 2 items in Europe, yet they are so necessary...
