"Great house - location is remote and very quiet - we had a wonderful time. We got in late our first night and the owners left the lights on for us with music playing - it was great especially after a very long travel day for all of us. The house is located in the southern area of the island which worked out well for us. It was close to Volcanoes National Park ( an hour away) and we got to see Kilauea flow! And it is only about 2 hours from Hilo and an hour from Kona. We had a great time exploring the southern end of the island and never felt like we were over run by tourists or crowds like you would find in Kona or Hilo. The plunge pool is pretty big and very refreshing - you can not get down to the ocean but we did feed the fish and saw turtles and dolphins several times during our stay. The house does not have AC but we did not need it in any of the rooms. There are ceiling fans in each room as well as several floor fans that you can move around as needed. The TV was huge and great to watch the basketball playoffs. We cooked dinner 3 of the nights we were in the house and the kitchen was great - it is fully equipped for whatever you need. There are mosquitos on this island but the owners had bug spray for us which was great. We would recommend staying here if you are looking for a relaxing vacation on the Big Island for sure!"
