"Don't pass up the Far Out Motel! First off, the place has been remodeled and decked out. When you hear the word "Motel", you think "The First 48, Psycho or Vacancy" but this is NOT the case. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The Air Conditioning was nice and cold and the bathroom was well maintained. We stayed in a room with a kitchenette and the appliances were new and clean. The Motel is within walking distance to downtown Starkville and very close to MSU. I travel a lot for work and stay at many of the big name Hotels and the Far Out Motel is much more unique."

"This was the second time a group of women leaders at my church spent a weekend at the Howell House. We all agree: This place is FABULOUS! The decor, the well-stocked kitchen, and the setting made for such a lovely and relaxed time. The housecleaning wasn't great this time, but the Howell House Retreat has an incredible amount of sheets and towels, so it wasn't a show-stopper. We all want to come back next year! The two living areas are incredibly comfortable and all the mattresses got great reviews from our group."

"This property is a beautiful home and a wonderful location, its on a wide body of water, we got to watch the barges go through which was neat. 3 of the rooms have doors to go outside to a porch. It has more than enough items you will need for your stay. The host are wonderful and got back with us and were great. The home is very clean and the beds all slept wonderful for all of our family. We will most definitely be back for our family get aways."
