Settled in sunny Gladstone Masterton, this modern country cottage overlooking a beautiful pond with private access to the Ruamahanga River. A one minute walk to the river for those who enjoy trout fishing or swimming. A short trip to local vineyards, Gladstone Hotel and only 10 minutes to Masterton. A perfect place to relax and have a quiet nights sleep. There are many beaches to visit within the Wairarapa and great hunting.

Excellent quiet stay in the countryside

Nice place for a few days to spend time away from the city. Great location to sit outside reading a book or taking the short walk down to the river. My son loved visiting the guinepig hutch and Zeus the lovely dog who decided on joining us for walkies!

Stunning setting

Beautiful cottage far away enough from the main house to feel private. Close to a lovely fishing river so trout for dinner. Very friendly and generous hosts who supplemented our supplies with wonderful fresh eggs. Strongly recommend for a lovely rural break.

Ruamahanga Paradise

The little cottage has been renovated to a quality standard. Very quiet and peaceful, with 1 min walk to the river for swimming and fishing.Damian and Tracy are beautiful hosts, inviting us to help ourselves in the orchard, glasshouse, and even eggs from the free range chickens.Masterton is only a few minutes drive on a good road. We fully recommend Northfield Farm Cottage. It's so relaxing. Excellent value for money

Wonderful warm cottage

This place had everything we needed for our whānau of 3 to enjoy a few nights away. Clean, cosy house, comfy beds. Well appointed kitchen and bathroom. Heat pump kept us warm. Good sized table for board games. Good sized TV and good wifi. Great river walk. My daughter loved the Guinea pigs. The only thing we needed to bring was a coffee plunger.

My son loved his stay on the farm. The animals were a highlight. The property was nice and clean and fairly well equipped. Was nice to have Sky tv. Only down side was the odd cockroach and what sounded like a possum in the roof on the first night and the cockerel crowing at 3am. That's life in the countryside I guess!

Great value cottage

The cottage is located down a long drive and past the owner’s house and is nice and quiet. There is a great safe swimming hole in the river.. go through the gate to the right of the pond, across the paddock , through the gate with a padlock and down the walkway turning right at the bottom. A couple of minutes later you will arrive at the swimming hole. Lovely! The only things missing were a coffee plunger, and a good curtain in the single room (which gets the morning sun). These are both on the owners to do list so will probably appear soon. We would happily stay here again, it was lovely having a wine on the deck in the late afternoon sun, star gazing and spotting satellites. Such a good value option. Thank you.
