"Gorgeous traditional Ryoken. Problem at check-in almost ruined it but we worked it out. You check in and receive a cotton kimono, toe socks and slippers. "The hotel was beautiful with all the amenities you could need. This was our first time in a traditional Japanese style room and it was such a fun experience. The onsens were great and the reservation system easy to use. Dining was special and we loved the food. Getting to do a little laundry in their facilities was an added bonus. "We stayed here for 5 days. The staff were amazing and so friendly. We enjoyed the breakfasts each morning. The rooms were quiet and very comfortable. The public bath was clean and was not busy during our stay. The area was close to a train station which was helpful in getting around Kyoto. The real highlight was how attentive the staff were to our needs and how kind they all were. We loved the uniqueness of the property and were very glad we stayed. "

"This property does take some effort to get to. But the stay was pleasant. Buffet was delicious and onsen baths were amazing. The ryokan experience is very interesting and comfortable for us. "We LOVED this place! We got the room with a private bathroom and garden. The garden was beautiful and our room was very large and spacious. The food they served in the restaurant was delicious and very well priced. Very nice staff. The place is located a bit away from the city, which is just what we wanted. It is located a very short 3 min walk from the bus stop. Very easily accessible. They will ship your luggage for you through a company if you ask (I recommend cuz it’s not fun taking...

"This was our first stay at a rhyokan (spelling!)and we were blown away by the beauty, The comfort (personally I felt sleeping on tatami mats on a futon perfect). The attentive service was welcoming and spot on. We ate breakfast and dinner here and the local food was abundant, gorgeously presented and flavorful. We had a room with a private Onsen on a deck. Highly recommend. This was a unique, peak experience and I am a seasoned traveler. Do it. "

"Amazing hotel! It’s in a great location near many shops and restaurants, plus there’s a subway station right under the hotel lobby which was super convenient!
