"Visiting Clarkes is like stepping back in time. The architecture of the building makes such a refreshing change from the modern hotels of concrete, glass and over the top air conditioning. Our room was lovely and was beautifully furnished and the public areas of the hotel were also thoughtfully presented. Although some people might find it a little formal, the staff were friendly and polite without exception. We would stay there again without hesitation."

"Historical 18th century building. Part of Udaipur history. Good hospitality . Ok food. Breakfast included and well made. 4 or 5 choices. Sewage smell in the room and lobby .Nearby construction . Room windows opened to a 5. 4 shut permanently. 1 opened to a white wall in .. No view at all of roads or lake Pichola from some rooms in the hotel. 2 Ms day occupancy was 5/35.. they could have upgraded me to a room with a view. They didn’t. "

"Good location, private Ghat, good service. Have stayed earlier and experience has been great always. However I have one suggestion that since many people visit Haridwar due to holding prayers , hotel should look at feasibility of this offering check in time of 15:00 hrs and check out time of 13:00 hours"

"The staff was most accommodating. We were given rooms on the 4th floor. My mother didn’t like the steps. The hotel moved us to the first floor/ground floor. Awesome rooms. The decor and areas match the pictures. Very soothing and zen environment to sit and enjoy the Jaipur morning and evening. The food was great. We ate there three nights plus breakfast. Excellent spread. The owner lives on the property and keeps an eye on things. His dog putters around the property. "
