Perfect for families
It is an awesome property, we loved the lake. The kids caught so many fish and we were so close to catching a huge bass that broke my line! The house had everything we need to be together and create awesome memories. We want to come back soon.

A little piece of paradise
Thank you for a wonderful get away for my family. This cute little house nestled up against a private lake with peaceful and beautiful surroundings was perfect! We enjoyed our morning coffee out on the deck, overlooking the lake with geese and ducks swimming around. Exploring the lake on paddle boards we also found turtles and amazing views of nature. Nights around the fire pit laughing and enjoying the stars. Just a 15 min drive to Bass Lake made this a perfect location.

Lots of unresolved issues
We had a lot of issues with our stay. The washing machine doesn’t work. Neither does the toaster. There were bugs in the sugar jar. And there was a frog that appears in the shower drain on several occasions. We tried to bring up these issues with the host but never got a response.

Amazing
I have nothing negative to say about this place. It was perfect and so spacious. We loved going to the lake to fish, kayak and paddleboat. My son who has never fished before was able to catch fish. The first day there a deer on the property by the house and then later came back to the lake in the evening. We loved being able to roast hot dogs and marshmallows in the fire pit at night. Internet connection was fast and there were even some streaming services. Also the hot tub was marvelous to get into after hiking during the day. We will definitely be returning again.

Great for our large group. Photos accurate, but did not do the scenery justice. The huge deck and fire pit really added to the space. The common areas inside were small, but still accommodating enough - cozy. Would love to book again, and spend more time here.

Dream Getaway
This was a dream getaway for me and my family. We were planning a short vacation to Yosemite and I came across this lovely cabin. It’s a beautiful cabin not too far from Yosemite, with a short drive to town (oakhurst) that’s very convenient when you realize you didn’t bring all the groceries that you needed like us. The private pond was were we spent most of our time when we were at the cabin. There was plenty fish to catch which was extremely cool especially for me not being an avid fisherman. My 3yr old was even able to catch his own fish. The cabin is also dog friendly which really made it full circle for us being able to bring our fur baby. Definitely will be coming back next year if not sooner!!

The lake cabin
Our stay in the cabin was delightful. It was a warm day when we walked in to the cabin and the air conditioning was on and it was so wonderful that you prepared the cabin for us. Our most enjoyable moments we're walking down to the small lake and exploring the stream and the lake. We all enjoy the paddle boat and the kayaks and the fishing experience was so fun for the kids. We spent evenings around the fire pit and could easily walk down to the lake cuz the path was lit. The cabin was rustic but that made it even more enjoyable. Thank you for opening up your home We thoroughly enjoyed our time spent there We will definitely try to come again.

This cabin met all of our expectations. The property owner was easy to get a hold of via text and was able to easily accommodate our late check out request. The property is absolutely beautiful. You can literally just stay on the property the whole time and find different things to do. You don't even have to leave if you don't want to. Our family had a great time on the kayak & paddle boat. We will be coming back & next time we will stay longer!

This location was really good for this family trip. The lot was huge with a lot of privacy. Only downside was that the private lake was low on water but that's not anyone's fault but the drought. I would highly recommend this house

If you don’t mind rats running around the house all night it’s a great place
My family and I booked this home for a big family vacation at Bass Lake where we were going to be celebrating my grandpas life. We arrived at the home around 2:45pm on Monday and left at 8am on Tuesday morning. On Monday night around 9:30pm we started hearing all these noises and thought it was bats in the walls. (That had been mentioned in a previous review) we found out that it wasn’t bats, it was rats or mice not sure which. They were running all over the cabin completely unaffected by us. They were all over the dishes we had washed. They weren’t afraid of our dog. It was crazy! My kids were scared, so I slept with them and our dog in the bunk room and my husband slept in the queen room. I use the word “slept” lightly as we were awake most of the night because of these rodents. Thankfully we saw the rats and were able to put all our food in our ice chest to protect it. We are breakfast quickly (cereal) in the bedroom, so we wouldn’t be exposed to anything that the rodents carry (like the hantavirus). There was rodent droppings in the bathroom trash and all over the dishes. We packed up and followed all the rules for locking up except for putting the dishes away since there was rodent droppings all over them (we left two of our storage containers behind because the rodents we chewing on them) I thought the owner would want to throw them away. I wish I could share the photos and videos on here with you all. The owners decided to charge us 839$ for the one night. We asked for a full refund as we didn’t even have a vacation or really used there home. We sent them all our photos and videos and still haven’t heard back. I wouldn’t book this house. They also had rodent traps out which means they knew there was a problem. It was our worst vacation ever. We didn’t get to spend anytime with our family.

Better than expected
You never know if a listing is actually going to have all the amenities listed or shown in photos but this property did, and then some. Everything was clean and ready for us upon arrival. The kitchen was surprisingly well stocked, plenty of tp, linens and games. There was a badminton set, horseshoes, fishing gear and a pedal boat and kayaks on the lake. It was a very hot weekend so we took our own pop-up tent for the deck because the umbrellas were just not enough shade for the 100 degree temperature. A couple of issues- the ceiling fan in living room did not appear to be functioning and the master bedroom had no a/c vent. Thankfully there was a floor fan provided. Also, one of the shower heads had no water pressure but the property contact quickly fixed the issue. This is a great cabin that is fairly secluded and private. We all had a great time and would definitely recommend this place!

Could be great but needs TLC
First, I want to say how cool this place could be for a group. It is very private and feels like camp, with a big deck and a horseshoe pit and a pond right out back to paddle around. Unfortunately our use and enjoyment of the place was limited by a pretty serious problem of bats nesting in the walls of the house. We heard them squeaking inside the walls while going to sleep the first night (thankfully a close midnight inspection with flashlight confirmed that they were not in the bedroom itself, but the proximity was disconcerting). Then, the next day, I noticed two large piles of what looked like rodent droppings and shredded insulation where the deck meets the house. Looking up, I could see bats crawling in and out of a gap between the wall and the roofline. I wasn’t super pleased to have them so close (just a few feet from the sliding glass door connecting the house to the outside), but was more disturbed by the large mounds of droppings on the ground. Luckily we didn’t have our dog with us, so we just Clorox wiped all the eating surfaces and I told my family to steer clear of the area with the droppings and bat activity. It would have been impossible to keep a dog from getting into that. Unfortunately, when evening fell, the bats starting swooping in and out, flying low over the deck/patio area, and no one wanted to be outside anymore. That’s too bad since the deck is probably the best part of the house, but it just didn’t feel safe or comfortable for my family. Let me be clear that we live in a rural area and are comfortable with wildlife. We have bats over our backyard and flitting overhead whenever we walk the dog in the evening. But I was not comfortable having them buzzing us as we ate dinner or flying so close to my daughter. I emailed the contact for the house as soon as I discovered the bat problem. He responded quickly and said he’d call pest control. That was on Friday; we checked out on Sunday without having heard anything else. I followed up with the owner/manager afterward to let him know that it was a real problem for us, but I never heard back. Overall, this place has real potential to be a great getaway. And I understand that some degree of rustic-ness is to be expected at a cabin in the woods. But for the price we paid (almost $500/night with fees), I would have expected much more attention paid to cleanliness and safety. And certainly would have appreciated more/better communication once the problem was raised.
