"We had such a great time! We are a group of 11 high school friends who have remained friends for over 50 years! Yes we are old! We rented a pontoon boat with plans to explore Torch Lake one day and Elk Lake another day, however the weather was unusually cold with rain off and on so we cancelled. There was so much to do in the surrounding area. We spent time in Elk Rapids, Bellaire and Alden exploring, shopping and enjoying the lake views. We spent 1/2 a day at Traverse City Resort and Spa treating ourselves to spa appointments. Day Trip to Charlevoix! What a fun town. Great lunch and drinks at Weathervane Restaurant, Gem Car Mushroom House Tour of whimsical one of a kind hobbit style houses, beautiful lake and marina views and shopping on Bridge Street. Our host Jennifer was great. Super attentive with lots of great suggestions. The VRBO was well appointed, comfortable with lots of seating areas and with great views. Well stocked kitchen, beach towels for our use, fire pit, marshmallow skewers - you name it. We all had a great time and are already planning our next trip when we can get some boating in on the lakes! Thank you Jennifer! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!"

"Betty’s & her home were beautiful, impressively clean, organized & well stocked. Just a couple blocks walk to the Main Street of town, restaurants, shopping, lake & beach in Elk Rapids makes the location very convenient. She responded to any requests immediately. We accidentally locked our selves out and before we were back from that days outing she had already replaced the key in the lock box for us My children and grandchildren stayed with us. Betty even had plenty of toys ready inside & outside, for my granddaughters. Some of our favorite times were on Betty’s large wrap around, covered porch for coffee in the morning and a cocktail in the evening while the kids played.We will look forward to staying again for sure!!"

"Beautiful home with lots of flexibility for entertaining an extended family. Both daughters and their families. The kitchen well stocked with food prep and serving wear. The fire pit was a big hit for an outdoor hotdog and s’mores roast. Nice gas grill for doing steaks. Easy access to the downtown area by driving or river walk. A very nice 9 hole golf course was less than a mile away. The beach area was well maintained and the river at the mouth was shallow enough and low enough flow that our 7 yr old grandson had a great time playing with other kids in the water. We rented a pontoon from the marina for the day and had a great time cruising on Elk Lake. Blueberry picking was only a 35 minute drive to Traverse City and back up on Mission Peninsula.Good restaurants were only a few blocks away. Also had a nice afternoon visiting wineries on Mission Peninsula. "
