This is a well laid out apartment, 15 minute walk from train station, near Les Halles in old Nimes. It was very quiet, has cross ventilation, and a/c if needed. Bed was very comfortable. The sofa/futon is in bad shape and we could not sit on it let alone use it as a bed so that needs replacement.Landlord responds to queries promptly.

Very comfortable flat in a great location

We had a fantastic 5 five day stay in Nimes and this was a great base. 15 minutes walk from the rail station and everything we wanted to see within an easy walk. The flat is comfortable and well equipped. Very close to some great places to eat, but also has what you need to make meal. Spacious enough for two. Our host, Martin, provided a great welcome and was available for any queries. Would certainly recommend.

Nimes charming apartment

This apartment is well-located in the Historic Centre of Nimes, and the host is very knowledgeable of the area and very friendly. Martin was extremely helpful with our efforts during our month-long stay as we were making long-term plans to stay in Nimes. The apartment has been updated and is well furnished including the kitchen. It's close to public transportation stops for when you want to venture further afield. We thoroughly enjoyed our time spent at this VRBO and are happy to have met Martin.

1 Week Stay in Nimes

As background, I travelled to Nimes alone for the purpose of seeing the various Roman artifacts, ruins, and intact structures. I have interest in the Roman Empire and Nimes did not disappoint. I really enjoyed staying at this property. I would say it is just right for 1 person or a couple who would be spending most of their time outside. I did not need the bed in the small living area so I can't attest to that, one way or the other. The kitchen and bathroom appear to be quite new. The kitchen was extremely well equipped and it was quite easy to prepare a meal, which I did for breakfast and a dinner or two. The bathroom is also new, large, comfortable and the water was hot. The bedroom was large and mattress was firm. The air conditioner was in the bedroom and it did the job. Note that when I was there temperatures outside where around 75F during the day. I never watched the television so I can't comment on that. For me, the best intrinsic characteristic of this property is it's location. It is situated a short way down a small alley, which is off a one-way street, mostly pedestrian. When you exit the alley you will literally run into 2 small, pleasant restaurants, Turning left you will send you to a main street with restaurants to your left and right (L'Accent Bistrot on the right corner is outstanding). Turning right will send you on a wonderful winding walk through the Old Town with many stunning sites to see.

What I liked about the property was its location - it was close to restaurants and original Roman area It was clean and had fridge ( also kitchen with cooking facilités but I didn’t use these). I didn’t like the mattress as it did not provide support. No good if you have a bad back. The shower flooded the bathroom floor after use. (But I’ve found most hotels in France have this problem). Also there is an extra cleaning charge that has to be paid at the property in cash. Which I didn’t realise and that caused a few problems. That should be made clearer on booking the apartment I wouldn’t call the apartment ‘superb’ as it was dark during the day and there was no outlook - but it was certainly good value for the price
