"I wasn’t too bothered where I stayed when I booked this I just needed to be near Castle Howard, but when we arrived I definitely got a wow factor from the place it looked like we were staying in a castle ourselves! The staff were really friendly too and the grounds the hotel was in were fantastic too. I’m looking forward to revisiting just for this place alone absolutely loved it!"

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Royal Hotel where the staff were very welcoming and friendly. It has sea views an is in an excellent location. We hadn’t realised before our arrival that we needed to pre book a car parking space which meant that we had to use a roadside meter which was more expensive and less convenient than the car park. Fortunately we managed to secure a space on the hotel overspill carpark on our second day after waiting outside the carpark until someone checked out. Our room was very clean, warm and well decorated although the window was extremely high. The food was very tasty and there was an excellent choice for breakfast. It was dog friendly and although we were not able to eat in the dining room, the bar area was very comfortable and we were happy to be able to have our dog with us. "

"A great hotel at a reasonable price. We were there on a Saturday and there was entertainment in the evening too. We had tickets to a concert, but it all seemed to be going well when we got back. Staff were great. Parking on-site for £6 per day. Room was lovely and beds comfy. Woyld recommend"
