"The Plover Retreat is an adorable, cozy cabin. Close to downtown Grand Marais and a short drive to Lake Superior and Pictured Bay Rocks National Lakeshore. The cabin was clean, with day to find and perfect. It was just my husband and myself, we enjoyed the deck and cooking a few meals in the kitchen."

"Our experience at this cabin in was outstanding. It’s a perfect retreat for anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and immerse themselves in nature. The hosts were very responsive. They live right across the street if anything happened to come up. Nothing did, but it was good to know. I can’t recommend it highly enough and can’t wait to return for another visit!"

"The one-room cabin was overall wonderful. The view of the Trout Lake is beautiful, and the cabin is centrally located for any destination you want to get to. The host was polite, and answered every question or concern we had almost immediately. The little heater in the bathroom was a big plus. Towels and blankets were plentiful and the entire cabin was cleaned with some cooking utensils which made making dinner easy. Overall amazing stay!"

"This is a nice small cabin with a great view of the lake. We stayed for one weekend off season but I am sure it is a great place to vacation in the summer. It has everything you need, very clean, and the hosts go out if their way to make sure you are comfortable. It is an upgrade from camping but if luxury is your style, it isn’t for you."

"We had a wonderful stay over Labor Day weekend and this was a perfect location to stay. Enjoyed the peddle boat and outdoor picnic tables. Beautiful sunrise in the morning. Close enough to hit the waterfalls too. Very friendly owners and great local pizza at Trout Lake tavern."

"We had a blast! It was a great home base for our adventures. The dogs also loved it! My bird dog was a handful as she was constantly chasing the ducks on the dock. My daughter loved seeing all the baby ducks, and even went in the lake when it was 60 degrees outside. We drove the Jeep through Hiawatha to kitchi-iti-kipi on the way there. Went to Oswalds on opening day and both upper and lower falls at Techmequenon, Prayer chapel, Mackinac bridge and got stuck in the parade, picked up pasties at...

"This was a wonderful place in an isolated area yet really central to the falls and other great places to visit in the eastern UP. It was comfortable, clean, and had everything we needed. It was easy to contact someone with questions and they responded quickly. And as a special treat, there was a Whip-poor-will on the deck the first night we were there. We will definitely stay here again next time we're in the UP"

"The property was just as listed. Nice space for a large group of women. We didn't need to use the cute little stove as the weather was warm. Two of us used the screened-in porch as a bedroom--such a nice view of the stars and great breezes! Kitchen was perfect for light cooking--everything there for our needs. Plenty of towels! Even plenty of hot water for showers--for a big group!"

"Our family of 4 stayed at this house for a short getaway to ride the trails around Newberry. The location has easy access to the trails by sled, as well as a gas station. Being in town, restaurants and grocery stores are nearby and available. The way the driveway is situated makes it easy to pull your trailer in for loading and unloading your equipment. The house was cozy and there was a nice mud room off the back for all your gear. The host was responsive and accommodating. We would stay here...

"Good accommodations for the price. We used this house as a base for road trips each day so we were only there to sleep. Well stocked with supplies and kitchen needs. The attic bedrooms were very hot but we made do with the multiple fans provided. The house had a "rustic/cabin" atmosphere. NOTE: The toilet in the front bathroom leaks leaving a wet floor."

"The home is basically split into 2 halves, with the entrance/mud room being the divider. The first half has two bedrooms containing 7 beds and a full bathroom. The second half of the home is the master bedroom with full bath, living room, and kitchen/dining area. The two sides can only interact by passing through the mud room and up the stairs of the coat locker area. This actually worked phenomenally for us. We're two guys there on business with some hiking mixed in. We each get tons of privacy...
